00:00 The Philippines will again protest against China's actions in the West Philippine Sea.
00:07 This is what President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. said in a media briefing in Melbourne, Australia before the Philippines returned.
00:14 Despite this, the President said that China's actions are not reason to invoke the Mutual Defense Treaty in the United States.
00:23 According to the President, the Philippines continues to be alarmed by China's aggressive moves against the Philippine Coast Guard.
00:32 The President is determined to once again invite the Philippines to hold talks to stop these actions in the West Philippine Sea.
00:43 Meanwhile, President Marquez Jr. said that it is clear that the Philippines is trying to enter the territory
00:50 and that it is up to the Chinese research vessel in the Philippine Rise.
00:56 Once again, this is a clear intrusion into Philippine maritime territory.
01:01 And this matter, as usual, is of great concern.
01:06 And I see this absolutely unnecessary because if it is truly a research vessel,
01:14 then we could have come to a very simple agreement that the research vessel will ply the waters and do the research that they need to do.
01:25 However, there is a suspicion that they are not only research vessels.
01:30 So, again, this is a bit of an escalation of the tension that is present in the West Philippine Sea.
