00:00 So the County Council executive met today and one of the items under discussion was the proposal from
00:06 National Grid to put 420 50 meter pylons all the way down the east coast of Lincolnshire.
00:13 Obviously that has caused quite a bit of, well caused a lot of controversy. So we obviously
00:19 like local residents have great concerns about this and it will be a very intrusive
00:25 situation if it does happen. So it'll be highly visible, there will be safety concerns because
00:30 obviously we are talking about huge structures which will be visually intrusive. There will be
00:36 presumed there will be an impact on the tourist industry, there will be a big impact on the
00:40 farming industry because obviously wherever these pylons and these and the associated cables are
00:46 there will be an effect there. We understand that obviously the energy coming from the
00:53 turbines out in the North Sea has to come ashore and has to be dealt with. So we understand the
00:57 need and we understand why National Grid have to come up with a solution. Our concern is that the
01:04 only solution they seem to be really considering is these pylons on land and they seem to have
01:10 dismissed the other solution which would seem to be more practical and sensible which is putting
01:16 these big cables on the sea bed. So we are going to commission some reports to see what the
01:23 consequences would be of putting these pylons up because we're again not totally, we haven't
01:30 really had much information from National Grid of the impact this would have and frankly if we
01:36 don't feel that they are properly investigating those choices we could resort to legal proceedings.
