More than a dozen workers at Whiston Hospital are to stage a five week walk out in a dispute over pay. The five-week action will begin on March 14 after scientists were informed they do not qualify for an essential services payment worth £4,000.

Liverpool Council has approved a council tax hike of almost 5% for the next 12 months. An increase of 4.99% in 2024/25 will equate to an additional £64.81 per year or £1.25 per week for a Band A property – the rate paid by most council taxpayers across Merseyside.

A QR code reporting system is rolling out for Merseyside businesses, to make reporting crimes such as shoplifting easier for security and staff. It allows for easier and faster reporting as once submitted, a crime reference number is generated which starts the investigative process.
