00:00 >> When you take a quick look at your men's basketball program,
00:02 you've got one of the most personal basketball coaches in the country.
00:05 You've got a program that's been to the NCAA Tournament maybe once in a dozen
00:08 years.
00:09 How do you make that work?
00:12 >> Well, part of it is, I'll go back, and I've said this over and over.
00:15 My job is to put Hop in a position to succeed.
00:19 I can tell you right now,
00:20 I don't know what it is that needs to be done to put him in a position to succeed.
00:24 So here's my schedule.
00:25 So I'm here for three days of the week.
00:27 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, I'm at Big Ten meetings.
00:29 I'm going home to New Orleans, and I say home because there's still a house there
00:33 I have to sell.
00:33 I'm gonna try to clean out my office, do personal goodbyes, and
00:37 I'm back up here the Friday before Arizona State game.
00:41 I talked to Hop earlier, I said, that weekend, I wanna sit down.
00:44 I wanna start to understand, what does he need?
00:47 What type of help does he need from me to succeed?
00:49 And that's part of the evaluation program.
00:52 And I said this yesterday on the radio show,
00:55 that evaluation will also happen to football.
00:57 Even if you're succeeding at the highest level,
01:01 what needs to happen to either sustain it or stay ahead of people chasing you?
01:05 And so I'll have those discussions with everybody, including Hop.
01:09 Basketball is such a, this is a basketball city.
01:15 I mean, there's great basketball here.
01:17 There's a great history of basketball.
01:19 So I think we will share the same motivations, and
01:22 that's to get it back going again.
01:25 And it'll start when I get back up here and we have a chance to sit down and
01:28 I can understand the program a little bit and where he thinks the problems have been,
01:35 where he thinks the solutions are, and I can get the lay of life.
