The Pittsburgh Steelers must learn from their mistakes with Kevin Dotson to ensure they get the best out of Broderick Jones.

00:00 Kevin Dotson kind of proves, hey dude, if you put me in the right scheme and allow me
00:04 to play the right position, I am pretty good.
00:08 You think the Steelers should kind of look at this and say, maybe we should stop messing
00:11 around with what side of the line offensive linemen play on?
00:15 And do you think it's a direct shot to say, do not mess up Broderick Jones because this
00:20 is what could happen?
00:21 Yeah, a little bit.
00:23 I mean, I look at especially not just not just Dotson, but you brought up Kendrick Green
00:27 too and like the fact that he was even serviceable and he was actually pretty good in Houston.
00:32 The fact that those two guys leave Pittsburgh and immediately become not just capable, but
00:38 like actually pretty good, like above average.
00:41 That's a little concerning.
00:42 Like, that's like, I'm not watching their offensive line practice every day, but like,
00:47 what, what are we doing?
00:49 You know, like why, why are these guys able to figure it out in two completely different
00:53 places?
00:54 Like they both went to, you know, followed some great offensive line coach and they're
00:58 getting, you know, the best coaching ever.
01:00 And this is a unique situation.
01:01 It's two different places that these two guys have have thrived in.
01:05 So I'm, I'm a little concerned.
01:09 I do kind of take it as a bit of a cautionary tale, I guess, but more just have some urgency
01:16 in getting Broderick Jones to his natural position.
01:19 You know, it seems like right now it's just like, oh, well, he's fine at right tackle.
01:23 So we'll just leave him there.
01:25 And I don't know if fine should be your bar, you know, like you've upgraded a bunch of
01:31 other positions on the offensive line.
01:33 And like, I think Dan Moore is fine, but we're at the point with the Steelers and we've talked
01:37 about it with the quarterback situation.
01:38 I think you got to apply it to the rest of the roster too, where fine isn't good enough,
01:42 you know, like we're at fine and we're trying to get better than fine.
01:45 So you gotta find those small ways to upgrade everything.
01:49 And I think one of those small ways is that you get Broderick Jones into the position
01:54 that he actually plays, which is left tackle.
01:57 And Omar Khan has said, this guy's a left tackle.
02:00 He's going to be a left tackle soon.
02:02 But like, how soon is that?
02:04 You know, like how soon are we actually going to, to put this move into place?
02:09 You know, that's my big question.
