00:00 Kyle Juszczyk just agreed to a pay cut with the 49ers.
00:03 According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the pay cut will free up about $1.75 million for the
00:10 49ers, which is not nothing.
00:13 And it means that instead of counting $7.5 million against the Niner salary cap this
00:19 season, Juszczyk will count a little bit below $6 million, which means he's still an extremely
00:26 expensive fullback who touches the ball about once per game and will turn 33 in April.
00:35 Great to have Kyle Juszczyk back on the team.
00:37 It's good to have the juice in the locker room, but at a certain point, are the 49ers
00:43 going to graduate beyond having the most expensive decoy?
00:48 They used to call him an offensive weapon.
00:49 They don't give him the ball.
00:50 It's hard to be a weapon without the ball.
00:53 He's an offensive decoy, an offensive motion guy, and he's turning 33 and he's making $6
01:00 million.
01:01 I understand when Jimmy Garoppolo was the quarterback, putting all the resources into
01:06 the run game.
01:07 Have the best running back, have the best fullback, have a gadget player who's a wide
01:11 back and is listed at wide receiver, but he's really basically an extension of the running
01:15 game.
01:16 Sure, do all that.
01:17 But now you have a Pro Bowl quarterback who can win games with his arm.
01:23 With Jimmy, you were just hoping he wouldn't lose games with his arm.
01:25 Brock wins games with his arm.
01:27 How about invest in the passing game for once?
01:33 Nothing against the juice, but a $6 million fullback, all that going in motion stuff.
01:40 Does it help the run game?
01:41 Yeah, sometimes I guess, but he's not really helping the passing game very much.
01:45 The Niners should have one of the most dangerous passing games in the league if they just gave
01:49 the quarterback a little time.
01:52 Does he need a fullback going in motion 80 times a game, or does he need time to throw?
01:59 So it's cool that the Niners are sort of shuffling their roster, making it a little bit more
02:04 cost effective, really overhauling the defense, but what about the passing game that was 3
02:10 for 12 on 3rd down in the Super Bowl?
02:12 It's way too talented to have a stat like that in a game like that.
02:17 What are the Niners doing to address that?
02:19 Oh, they re-signed Colton McKivitts.
02:24 Let's see what they do next.
