The last months of the year, at the end of the millennium.
American tourist George Stobbart is thrilled to be in Paris. Sitting outside a charming café, enjoying a café au lait, George is startled by a clown who drops his accordion on a bar stool.
Moments later there is a massive blast and the café is destroyed. George narrowly escapes serious injury. Determined to discover the motives of the deadly clown and bring him to justice, George teams up with Parisian photo-journalist Nico Collard. Soon, they find themselves being drawn into a gripping adventure.

Multi-award-winning point & click adventure Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars is celebrated by many as one of the greatest adventure games of all time.
Now this adventure game is being substantially enhanced.
George Stobbart is a normal guy to whom extraordinary things happen. With a casual outlook on life, he doesn’t always get the final word.
The game draws upon the existing beauty of Parisian back alleys, Syrian market places and pubs in rural Ireland.
Featuring puzzles, organically woven into an intriguing narrative, that make players feel rewarded for their lateral thinking, rather than their reflexes. Well, mostly.
We are working to bring the game bang up to date:
* Backgrounds are being repainted in 4K from the original line art.
* Character sprites are being redrawn,
* with a particular focus on character expression.
* Dynamic shadows and lighting enrich the beautiful 2D graphics.
* We are enhancing and polishing the original cutscenes.
* All on top of improving the audio quality throughout the game.
* This will be the game we always imagined, brought from 480p to stunning 4K…
…with a toggle feature that will allow you to switch back and forth between the original Shadow of the Templars and Shadow of the Templars: Reforged.
So much more than a remake

When making Broken Sword we drew inspiration from other entertainment mediums, in particular the creative processes of animated filmmaking.
Originally featuring close to 100 backgrounds, veteran Don Bluth layout artist Eoghan Cahill initially drew their outlines in pencil, before scanning them in to be digitally painted.
Now we’re going back to Eoghan’s original pencil outlines. Repainting all these backgrounds by hand, yet retaining their stylistic base and original charm, we are bringing these classic Broken Sword backgrounds authentically into 4K…
... while correcting a few continuity errors along the way.
