00:03 - We should focus on the things that work
00:05 for the New York Yankees.
00:06 I really like Laboratories,
00:08 I really like Anthony Volpe,
00:09 and I'm gonna set you loose
00:10 because I believe that Volpe is one of your guys,
00:12 along with Julio Rodriguez,
00:14 that if people listen,
00:15 they can really find the value
00:17 while everyone is focusing on something else.
00:19 Go.
00:20 - I've seen this kid play in person multiple times.
00:23 Anthony Volpe's the real deal.
00:25 He reminds me quite a bit
00:26 of a Dustin Pedroia-esque kind of player.
00:28 And he already last year had a 20/20 season.
00:31 Now, he hit just about 200,
00:33 which was, that was the problem.
00:35 But if you dig a little deeper into that,
00:37 you could see that,
00:39 I mean, let me throw this out there.
00:41 Last year in 20, you know, 23,
00:43 he had a 259 Babbitt, right?
00:45 That's gonna raise a little bit.
00:48 And even if it raises to like the 280 range,
00:51 he's not gonna hit 200 again.
00:52 He's far too good of a player for that.
00:54 So he's already giving you something you covet
00:55 in fantasy baseball,
00:56 which is power and speed, right?
00:58 20/20 player, lock it up.
01:00 You look at the projections here, 73 runs scored.
01:02 Well, okay, that's suppressed
01:03 'cause where he's hitting the batting order right now.
01:04 But I think that could change as time goes on.
01:07 If he gives you 20 to 25 homers, 20 to 25 stolen bases,
01:11 and for some reason,
01:13 DJ LeMayhue falters at the top of this order,
01:15 I think there's a universe where Volpe is hot
01:18 at some point, maybe June or July,
01:20 if LeMayhue's struggling,
01:22 that you see Volpe get an opportunity
01:23 at the top of that order.
01:24 'Cause that's where he hit in the minor leagues.
01:26 Let's not forget that.
01:27 Let's not forget too, that he was a much better player.
01:29 Like you look at the Babbit for him at AAA,
01:32 before he made his debut was 321.
01:35 He's a player that's OBP has fluctuated,
01:38 but again, he's still a relatively young player.
01:40 So I think you give him time,
01:41 you get a 348 OBP at AA, 313 in AAA,
01:46 but then obviously it bottomed out last year at 283.
01:49 He's a very hard-nosed player.
01:51 And I think he was pressing a little bit last year.
01:53 I think another year in of feeling comfortable
01:55 with the Yankees, not a lot of fanfare.
01:57 Everyone's talking about Soto now.
01:59 I think Volpe is a player where you could see
02:01 as the season goes on, him continue to grow,
02:04 continue to break out.
02:05 And for a guy who 2020 is a floor last year
02:08 and a terrible season, really,
02:10 when you look at all the other measurables,
02:12 there's nowhere to go but up.
02:14 And the base is already so good, Matt,
02:16 that I don't know why more people
02:17 aren't investing in Anthony Volpe.
02:18 And this might be the last time in Dynasty
02:20 and Keeper Leagues, you can get him at a discount.
02:22 So take it and run.
