00:28 There's different skill sets that go into the position.

00:29 That's how we evaluate it.

00:30 The contract in itself is a series of options to stay or go, right?

00:36 And sometimes an agent and a player will decide, hey, I want a one year, and so

00:39 that I can do something different.

00:40 A team will decide I want longer.

00:41 Those are separate conversations from the evaluation of the position and

00:45 how you plan to build your team.

00:46 And the only thing I wanted to add about Kevin's previous comments is,

00:52 there was complete alignment.

00:54 This sport isn't such where you can just say on a binary basis,

00:57 I want that player.

00:58 I think we've been very clear since we've gotten here that we like Kirk Cousins.

01:02 We've been very clear that we think we could win Super Bowl with Kirk Cousins.

01:06 But we have a sport that only gives you a certain number of draft picks,

01:09 a salary cap, competition versus other teams.

01:11 It's a resource constrained thing.

01:14 So we don't get the chance to just say binary, yes or no.

01:16 There has to be planning and strategy involved.

01:19 And sometimes, I think when I called Kirk,

01:22 we joked about the uncomfortable middle.

01:24 That's what deals should be.

01:25 And we weren't able to find that.

01:27 And that's hard from a basis of an appreciation for the player and

01:30 all those different things.

01:32 But that doesn't mean we didn't compete for them.

01:34 Just sometimes it gets to a place where that uncomfortable middle isn't somewhere

01:37 where you wanted to go, where a different team can go.

01:39 Because in their timeline of their team,

01:43 they're in just a different situation.

01:44 That's all that can come down to a lot of times.
