Dr Celine Kelso explains what a nicotine pouch is.
Transcript
00:00 We have just purchased two generic brines that we can find easily on the market.
00:12 Just no specific reason why we picked those two amongst all the others.
00:16 Then we picked two different flavours to try to see when we do the chemical analysis if there were any main differences.
00:22 So we have a tobacco flavour as well as a mint flavour.
00:26 Just this berries and you name it.
00:30 So this area, if you get through this, that's what the pouches look like.
00:36 So they are little kind of paper looking little pouches that have some kind of smooshy consistency.
00:46 A little bit like play-doh.
00:48 And it's in fact crushed up cellulose.
00:50 So what would be by cellulose is the equivalent of what would make paper.
00:54 So it's made out of a non-digestible type of chemical.
00:59 And it's soaked with nicotine and it's added with flavours.
01:05 So this one particular one would have the cellulose as well as the nicotine.
01:13 Brian says 20 mg.
01:16 So on the front as much there is on that.
01:19 And on the... oh I'll have to close it.
01:21 We have a medium strength nicotine.
01:26 And this one is called extra strong.
01:28 And when you read the fine print there's actually more nicotine in this one than there is in this one.
