00:00 Manila has invested in a new water treatment plant
00:04 that is expected to help with the water supply in Metro Manila
00:07 and will reach the area in the middle of the El Niño.
00:10 This is the story of Bernard Ferrer.
00:12 50,000 customers of Manila Water Services Inc.
00:19 have been invested in a new modular water treatment plant
00:22 in Putatan, Muntinlupa.
00:24 Today, Laguna Lake Modular Treatment Plant was invested
00:27 that can produce 20 million liters per day
00:30 using water from Laguna Lake.
00:32 It uses state-of-the-art ceramic ultrafiltration or UF technology
00:37 that is more effective in removing dirt from raw water.
00:40 It is the first in the country to use water treatment.
00:43 The facility also uses other key global treatment technologies
00:47 like ceramic flat sheet membranes,
00:49 nano bubble technology, and sludge dewatering press.
00:53 With this help, water security in Metro Manila
00:57 is expected to be improved.
00:58 When it comes to water in Metro Manila in the middle of the El Niño,
01:02 Manila has an explanation.
01:04 As long as we are given a volume of 50 cubic meters per second,
01:10 we are sure that the normal water service will continue.
01:16 Manila is continuously calling on the public
01:19 to save water even though their supply has increased.
01:23 We hope that the daily routine
01:28 is still part of the responsible use of water
01:31 because the availability of water in our water supply system is not infinite.
01:38 Every drop of water is important,
01:40 so saving is needed, especially now that El Niño is in the country.
01:44 Bernard Ferrer for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
