00:00 I'm Ross. I'm Dan and we're the co-creative directors of Spun Glass Theatre and we manage
00:06 State Hall and the Mini Playhouse on the seafront. Spun Glass Theatre is a theatre company that
00:12 centres for cultural activity for families and early years audiences. We make plays for
00:18 children and parents as well as run workshops for babies and children in a range of art
00:24 forms. Our Mini Playhouse is our amazing children's theatre just outside of Source Park near the
00:33 seafront. You might have seen lots of coloured triangles on the wall. That's us. In there
00:38 we have a sensory cloud ceiling theatre and a workshop space for early years activity
00:45 and we programme a range of workshops and shows. As a director of children's theatre
00:50 we really wanted a space that could host audiences for children's theatre in the best possible
00:55 way. So that children are held and safe and in the best environment to watch a play and
01:03 also for the performers and the actors to tell stories and create magical theatrical
01:08 moments in a space that was specifically for that genre. The Mini Playhouse for us was
01:14 about creating a destination point for parents, a place for theatre and children and families
01:21 and it's very much a hybrid of a lot of work and ideas that have happened over the
01:25 last ten years of our work. So we've recently been lucky enough to get funding from Arts
01:29 Council England and National Lottery Awards for All and that money is going to allow us
01:34 to open up the Mini Playhouse space five days a week in the afternoons for free for mark
01:40 making sessions which means early years play sessions to allow younger children to make
01:47 their mark in and on our spaces and we will be working with multiple early years practitioners
01:54 to support this really exciting, really playful work and make sure that it is accessible for
01:59 everybody. If people want to find out more about these sessions they can go onto our
02:03 website or follow our social media pages, sign up for our newsletter and they'll find
02:07 all the information there. Stade Hall is home to lots of events and workshops like craft
02:13 fairs and belly dancing and box fit. We also have on the other side our Classroom on the
02:18 Coast home to sourdough making workshops, fish training and more. One of our charitable
02:25 aims is to make this something that contributes to families of Hastings. As a theatre company
02:31 we are committed to using the Stade Hall to put on plays and shows and theatre events
02:36 and programme a real range and variety of live performance. So if you would like to
02:42 use one of our spaces, the Mini Playhouse or the Stade Hall, come and find us here on
02:47 the open space or knock on the door of the Mini Playhouse and we'd love to chat. Or
02:50 you can email us on bookings@spunglasstheatre.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
