00:23 as the frame of the artwork of your body.
00:26 - It's not about feeling pretty.
00:28 It is about feeling powerful.

00:33 - Every woman has a side of herself
00:36 that's been pushed.
00:38 - You just pretend that your sexuality doesn't exist.
00:41 - When I first started, I just wanted to feel more sensual.
00:44 I didn't know there was a deeper journey.
00:47 - Every other woman that I see, she looks gorgeous,
00:49 but I can never see it in myself.
00:52 - I'm 50 years old, and I'm a widow.
00:56 My goal is to climb the pole.
00:59 - Some people come in just to learn how to pole dance,
01:01 and their minds are blown open
01:03 that it touches a part of themselves
01:05 that they never really had.
01:07 - I want you to move your body.

01:11 I don't think I can.
01:13 - Within this community,
01:15 there is such a level of truth
01:17 because I just saw you dance,
01:19 so I know you're not fine.
01:21 - Emotion is gonna come up.
01:23 Fear is gonna come up.
01:25 You have to fight through it.
01:27 - When I was younger, I was sexually abused.
01:31 I don't know who I am.
01:33 - Someone stole that from you,
01:35 and we need to reclaim it.
01:37 - The hardest thing is to get up and say,
01:40 "I'm still here."
01:42 You can't push me down.
01:45 This is what I do. Take it or leave it.
01:48 - It's a journey of growth and self-discovery.
01:50 - I believe that I danced my way through cancer.
01:53 - You feel a side of yourself you've never felt,
01:55 and it can just conquer the world.

01:59 - What if we just didn't carry around shame

02:02 - I think that the world would be a better place.
02:04 - I want women to explore this part of themselves
02:06 so that they can rediscover, reclaim, and shine.
