00:00 Today marks a significant milestone as the notification for the first phase of the Lok
00:08 Sabha election has been issued officially commencing the nation's election festival.
00:13 However, this election season is particularly dynamic, especially in Bihar, where political
00:20 shifts have stirred widespread attention. The India Alliance in Bihar is undergoing
00:25 a substantial transformation, particularly with Chirag Paswan's LJP gaining momentum.
00:31 Recently, the BJP-led alliance announced LJP's allocation of five seats, including the significant
00:38 Hazipur stronghold. This decision excluded Pashupati Paras's faction within the LJP,
00:44 prompting his departure from the alliance. And now, today's confirmation that Chirag
00:48 Paswan will contest from Hazipur solidifies his position, sidelining Pashupati Paras from
00:54 the equation entirely. This also marks a big win for Chirag Paswan, who was left aghast
01:00 in 2020 when Pashupati Paras decided to split LJP into two parts, leaving the party with
01:06 several prominent faces of the leadership. At that time, Pashupati Paras was given the
01:11 cabinet ministry in the Modi cabinet. However, ahead of the 2024 election, BJP has decided
01:16 to go back with Chirag Paswan. This marks yet another milestone for Chirag Paswan's
01:22 political career. Those who know LJP knows what Chirag Paswan is capable of. And his
01:28 journey too.
01:29 Born on 31st October 1982 in Khagaria, Bihar, Chirag Paswan, initially inclined towards
01:44 Bollywood, pursued a career in passionate acting. Despite his Bollywood aspiration,
01:49 his debut film Mile Na Mile Hum in 2011 failed commercially, prompting a shift towards politics.
01:57 Joining his father's party, the Lok Jan Shakti Party, also known as the LJP, Chirag started
02:01 taking care of the party along with his father. In 2013, the LJP witnessed a very big downturn
02:08 during the Grand Alliance, with Paswan losing the ministerial status for the first time
02:13 since 1989.
02:14 Amid Paswan's health concerns, in 2013, his son decided to take the charge, shifting
02:20 the party's allegiance to the NDA. Prior to the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Paswan delegated
02:26 authority to his son, proving to be politically advantageous. Under Chirag Paswan's leadership,
02:32 LJP secured 6-7 contested seats, becoming the second-largest party in Bihar Lok Sabha.
02:39 Consequently, in 2019, Chirag rose to the position of LJP's national president, marking
02:44 a significant transition in the party's leadership. In 2014, Paswan himself contested
02:50 from the Lok Sabha seat of Jammu and defeating Sudhanshu Shekhar Bhaskar of the Rashtriya
02:54 Janta Dal with over 85,000 votes. He retained the seat in 2019 by securing almost 528,000
03:03 votes and defeating the Bhudeo Chaudhary. Chirag Paswan also established the NGO Chirag
03:09 ka Rozgaar to provide employment to the unemployed youth in Bihar.
03:14 In anticipation of the Bihar elections 2020, Chirag Paswan also initiated the Bihar First,
03:19 Bihari First campaign, targeting the state's youth. This campaign was aimed to comprehensively
03:24 develop Bihar, emphasizing the urgent need to elevate it into the status of a premier
03:28 state. Yet, Chirag this time failed in garnering attention of the voters and in 2020 elections,
03:35 he posed a very significant failure because there was not his father standing behind him.
03:40 Also, his allegiance to the BJP alliance was also ended and so Chirag Paswan suffered a
03:46 massive defeat in the election however he got 8% of the electorate. To add this insult
03:53 to the injury, Chirag Paswan also faced the wrath of his uncle who left the LJP and claimed
03:57 the ownership of the party. Eventually, both lost as the election commission seized the
04:02 sign of the party which was a hut. When all this was happening, Chirag didn't go silent
04:06 at all. He stayed in the public light. In 2021, Paswan contributed Rs. 1,11,111 to the
04:15 construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, emphasizing the responsibility of all marginalized
04:20 sections to contribute in this grand campaign. Furthermore, Chirag was also replaced as the
04:26 leader of the LJP party after his uncle Pashupati Paras decided to leave the party. Subsequently,
04:33 Chirag at that time expelled 5 rebel MPs including his uncle and his cousin Prince Raj for engaging
04:38 in anti-party activities the following day. This was the official declaration of Chirag
04:43 vs Paras in the LJP. And now, Paswan has officially won as he is now endorsed by PM Modi and Chirag
04:51 will be fighting from his father's seat that is Hajipur. This is indeed a big win for Chirag
04:57 Paswan who eyes to make LJP once again a dominant force within Bihar and in the national politics
05:03 too. And so, the work has indeed started with Chirag Paswan taking the reign of Hajipur
05:08 in his hands.
