00:00 I will be rich, I will be able to help, I will be able to inspire, and I will be able to do wawagi.
00:08 What track in your album resonates with you the most?
00:28 It's hard to say because every song resonates with me.
00:33 Maybe the one thing that I wanted to relate to is "You Didn't".
00:43 At the end of the day, I am not going to please everyone.
00:48 I wasn't born to please everyone.
00:50 This song is such a statement itself.
00:54 Even the title is a statement itself.
00:57 This song became my inspiration.
01:02 Instead of a clapback, everybody thinks it's a clapback but it's not.
01:06 For me, it's more of a wanting to inspire little children out there.
01:13 Especially women, not just women but all genders out there.
01:20 You know what? In life, we have to be strong.
01:26 We shouldn't let everyone say what you are.
01:32 We shouldn't standardize people.
01:38 I remember people who love to standardize.
01:44 The stereotyping ruins the society for me.
01:51 It ruins the society so much.
01:53 I wanted to break that stereotyping.
01:57 It's because each and everyone of us is capable of doing something great,
02:01 doing something amazing and inspiring everyone.
02:04 That's why I chose "Grit" and that's why I named it "Grit".
02:08 That's why I chose "You Didn't".
02:11 Correct. More than people think it's a clapback.
02:17 You should also tell the public that not only you and I are experiencing this,
02:24 we are all experiencing this.
02:26 You are not alone.
02:28 Don't act as if you don't experience it.
02:31 Each and everyone of us are humans.
02:33 At the end of the day, we feel, we get hurt and then we stand up.
02:37 We don't just give up.
02:39 Correct.
02:40 And your objective is to empower youth, women and all people who are going through the same thing.
02:50 What is the legend or legacy that you want to leave in the music industry?
02:55 If someone says Angie Salvation, this is what she will leave.
02:59 I want to remember people as Angie Salvation, the conveyor.
03:04 You know that "the conveyor".
03:07 You can't.
03:08 You know, there's no conveyor belt.
03:10 So why Angie the conveyor?
03:14 It's because in music, you want to convey a message.
03:18 And each and every song has a story.
03:21 And I want to convey the story, the lessons and the learnings of the songs.
03:27 So I want it to be remembered as that way.
03:29 And you know, it's really nice to inspire.
03:33 Who doesn't want to inspire anybody?
03:38 So that's why I choose the conveyor.
03:41 Angie Salvation, the conveyor.
03:43 Remember that.
03:45 Correct.
03:46 Because before Angie Salvation, when you were just starting, you were inspired by people who were already with you.
03:53 And you want to be that person for the next ones.
03:56 Correct.
03:57 And you've collaborated with a lot of people before.
04:01 But who else do you think will collaborate with you?
04:06 Wow.
04:07 I'm ambitious.
04:08 I want to collaborate with a global artist.
04:10 Who is that?
04:11 But here in the Philippines, I would really, really love to collaborate with Ati Moira, Ben & Ben.
04:18 I love Ben & Ben so much.
04:20 I'm pan-girling.
04:23 And when I say globally, well, who doesn't want to do a collaboration with Ariana Grande?
04:32 Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, our Beyoncé, our girl, our queen.
04:39 We love you.
04:40 Manifest that.
04:42 In Jesus' name.
04:43 Amen.
04:44 And I have a favorite artist.
04:46 I'll just share.
04:47 Sorry, I'm stammering.
04:48 I have a favorite artist.
04:52 And I hope, she's so underrated.
04:54 And I really, really love her lyrical, her writing and stuff.
04:58 It's Alicia Cara.
04:59 You guys should listen to her.
05:01 It's so nice.
05:02 And of course, listen to Grit.
05:03 And Ange, since we've been talking about your album, Grit, let's talk about your other songs.
05:13 Let's start with "Happy."
05:15 The song "Happy" is about a girl who learns to be happy with herself.
05:20 Yes.
05:21 For me, when I'm asked what I think of myself, it's more on accepting oneself.
05:28 That you're happy for who you are because in the first place, we are imperfect.
05:33 But we're just being perfectly us.
05:35 Being perfectly us.
05:37 We're no pretends.
05:39 You're just you.
05:40 And you're perfect just the way you are.
05:42 And if you think that people don't like you because of who you are, then it's fine.
05:46 If people like you for who you are, then it's great.
05:49 And it doesn't matter because at the end of the day, you're you.
05:53 Correct.
05:54 You're you.
05:55 No pretends.
05:56 You're not trying to be someone else.
05:59 And you're not lying about who you are.
06:02 You're not losing yourself.
06:03 In your core.
06:04 Correct.
06:05 And can you say, Ange, that now you're at your happiest?
06:09 Yes.
06:10 Of course, I am at my happiest.
06:12 I never felt this happy because before, it was my lowest.
06:16 And then when I went to Siargao, there's a lot of learnings.
06:21 When I got in, I was about to leave, I said my goodbyes to my family.
06:27 And when I was just about to get on the plane, I realized that,
06:36 "Oh, this is the way of God to make us all humble."
06:42 You think that you got it all, but you don't.
06:46 And it's an eye-opener that, "Oh, wow."
06:51 I realized that I'm also a people pleaser.
06:54 So I realized that I should be contented for who I am,
06:58 not to push myself or force myself for anybody to like me.
07:03 And if they like me, then it's fine.
07:05 And if they don't, it's fine.
07:07 Just be you.
07:08 Just be you.
07:09 Let's go back to "You didn't."
07:11 There's a lyric there that says, "You thought you were hurt, but you just thought."
07:14 "You just thought."
07:15 So, how many people have you hurt, but you're strong enough to be an unbothered queen that you are?
07:21 How many?
07:22 What about today?
07:23 I'm here.
07:24 I'm here.
07:26 I'm still standing, still fighting.
07:28 And yeah.
07:29 Correct.
07:30 After what happened.
07:31 Next, let's talk about this masterpiece.
07:34 You have a lyric here that says, "Working on myself till I am a masterpiece."
07:39 It's about appreciating yourself.
07:41 Yeah, appreciating yourself.
07:43 It's also about being happy, but you're embracing more of your flaws.
07:48 "Working on myself till I'm a masterpiece."
07:51 Because, you know, opinions of others doesn't matter at all.
07:57 You don't give yourself unnecessary stress and unnecessary problems in order for you to build yourself up.
08:04 You need to focus on you.
08:06 And in order for you to radiate positivity, love, compassion, and you know, passion itself,
08:14 you have to build yourself up.
08:16 Correct.
08:17 Because at the end of the day, right?
08:19 No matter what other people say, you're the one who will live for yourself.
08:23 Yes, and you're the one who will say, "No, I'm here, and this is me."
08:29 "Nobody can get to tell me who I am."
08:32 But have you reached a point where you feel like you don't appreciate yourself?
08:37 How did you overcome that?
08:39 I've reached a point, yes, there's also that.
08:42 Because before, actually, when I was young, I didn't have any insecurities.
08:47 I was very active.
08:49 You know, I was like a naughty kid.
08:53 I was like that before.
08:55 You were just happy, right?
08:56 I was just happy. I was just happy for who I am.
08:58 Especially when I was growing up, because you know, the society, the stereotyping and stuff make you feel insecure.
09:05 And I hate that the most.
09:07 So it starts from that, but then later on, through the help of prayer, and through the help of my family,
09:15 the people who know me best, helped me to build who I am right now.
09:21 And now you're getting your power back.
09:23 I am getting my power back, and nobody's gonna get that ever again away from me.
09:28 Correct. And with that, Angie, here at Pep.th, we're manifesting with our celebrity guests.
09:35 And now, just hit this, 10 years from now, Angie.
09:39 10 years from now, I'll be rich.
09:42 That specific.
09:44 I'll be rich, I'll be very, very helpful, I'll be very inspiring, and I'll be a "wawagi."
09:52 I'll be a "wawagi."
09:54 There. Perfect.
09:57 Once again, Angie, let's invite our Pepsters to your latest album, "Grit."
