00:01 Hands off SJKT Ladang Kinrara.
00:04 This is the stern warning Kinrara Assemblyman Ng Ze Han
00:08 gave to the developer tasked with expanding Jalan Kinrara Mas,
00:12 which would see several school buildings, including a kindergarten and canteen, demolished.
00:17 Ng said the developer must not touch the Tamil primary school
00:21 until a plan to replace the school building is drawn up.
00:24 The decision to expand the road was reportedly made during a meeting on December 7th last year,
00:29 between the developer, Kuala Lumpur City Hall,
00:32 and representatives of Ng and Seputik MP, Theresa Kok.
00:36 Yesterday, Ng told FMT that the developer only promised to give the school some
00:41 RM50,000 in compensation, which he said was far from enough.
00:46 Ng said his office is submitting an official complaint to DBKL and the developer,
00:51 adding that the matter has been escalated to the Federal Territories Ministry
00:55 and the Prime Minister's office.
00:57 The Selangor Executive Councillor also said he wrote to the Education Ministry
01:02 and the Housing and Local Government Ministry to seek funds to rebuild the impacted school block.
