00:00DAP Chairman Lim Guan Eng has slammed Education Minister Fadlina Siddiq over her response

00:08towards the issue involving fundraising by breweries for vernacular schools.

00:13Lim, who is Bagan MP, said Fadlina should be the education minister for the unity government

00:19and the people, and not merely listen to PAS.

00:23PAS recently took issue with Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Ayman Atira

00:27Sabu for receiving a mock cheque for RM3 million, bearing Tiger Beer's logo at a fundraiser

00:34for SJKC Cemin in Sungai Pelit, Selangor.

00:37Selangor PAS Youth Chief Sukri Omar said the school's initiative to raise funds for the

00:42construction of a hall was praiseworthy, but claimed it was tarnished by Tiger's participation

00:48and that it was akin to normalising alcohol in schools.

00:52On Monday, the education ministry said it was probing the incident and reminded schools

00:56to adhere to the existing guidelines that prohibit the acceptance of donations generated

01:02from activities such as gambling, as well as the sale of tobacco, drugs and alcohol.

01:07Fadlina later said her ministry would not review or grant exceptions for the guidelines

01:12on donations given to schools, including for vernacular schools.
