00:33 - And one of the difficult things about being a presenter,
00:38 a preacher or a teacher on special occasions is,
00:44 how do I acknowledge and understand the special occasion
00:51 we can walk and chew gum, can we?
00:58 Okay.
01:00 How do I keep in line with the special occasion
01:05 and still say something that is significantly important
01:10 for the everyday life of the child of God?
01:15 You see, if you take Easter next week,
01:20 and thank you, Jason, just stand.
01:22 One of the most prolific young men coming along
01:27 to take my place and everybody else's place who's my age,
01:31 we thank God for him, amen.
01:33 God never leaves himself without a witness.
01:36 Amen, don't think because you don't have it all
01:40 and you ain't gonna be here all the time.
01:42 Okay.
01:44 So it's critical to understand that,
01:49 take Easter for instance.
01:51 Some people are coming to church on Easter
01:54 just because it's Easter.
01:57 And they expect what we call an Easter message.
02:02 But an Easter message that deals with the holiday
02:08 or the significance of the day
02:11 might not necessarily meet the need of the individual.
02:15 So in a normal setting, I would simply address the fact
02:21 that it is Palm Sunday and then preach something
02:24 from a text that is totally different.
02:27 But I'm looking at this in light of the spirit of the day.
02:32 When I looked at this, I found that there is
02:37 a lot of meat here that deals primarily
02:43 with the contemporary environment,
02:45 with the atmospheric situation that Christianity is now in.
02:50 And so we pick up in verse one of chapter 21.
02:55 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem,
02:59 they were come to Bethphage,
03:02 or as many of us would not put the PH,
03:06 but says Bethpage,
03:07 unto the Mount of Olives.
03:12 Then saying, Jesus, two disciples saying unto them,
03:15 go into the village over against you.
03:18 And straightway ye shall find an ass tied,
03:24 and a colt with her, loose them and bring them unto me.
03:27 And if any man say ought unto you,
03:31 you shall say, the Lord hath need of them.
03:36 And straightway he will send them.
03:40 And all this was done that it might be fulfilled,
03:44 which was spoken by the prophet saying,
03:45 tell ye the daughter of Zion,
03:48 behold thy king cometh up unto thee meek
03:51 and sitting upon an ass,
03:54 and a colt, the foal of an ass.
03:58 And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded
04:00 and brought the ass and the colt,
04:02 put on them their clothes and they sat in their own
04:05 in a very great multitude spread garments in the way.
04:10 Others cut down branches from trees
04:12 and strawed them in the way.
04:15 And the multitude that went before and that followed
04:17 cried saying, Hosanna to the son of David,
04:20 blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
04:23 Hosanna in the highest.
04:26 And when he was coming to Jerusalem,
04:27 all the city was moved saying, who is this?
04:32 And the multitude said, this is Jesus,
04:38 the prophet of Galilee.
04:42 No, the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
04:45 All right.
04:48 When you look at this in all of its splendiferous
04:53 presentation and accolade of him coming,
04:58 he is about to have his worst week.
05:06 This is the beginning of what will be
05:18 his worst week.
05:21 And it is interesting that somehow those of us
05:28 who give our lives to others
05:32 in light of following Jesus,
05:38 if any man is to come after me, he must deny himself,
05:43 pick up his cross and follow me.
05:47 Do I need a subject?
05:49 You'd like to have a subject?
05:53 No, you don't want the subject that I'm thinking about.
05:57 You remember when he said, I want to go get that donkey.
06:04 And if they come and say anything to you,
06:06 you tell them the Lord had need of them.
06:09 Well, let me put it this way.
06:12 The Lord has need of your donkey.
06:14 I had to do that.
06:24 I couldn't help myself.
06:25 He is about to have his last week.
06:30 And oftentimes when you give your life
06:33 for the people around you,
06:36 and many of us complain about our strengths,
06:42 oftentimes God has set you up in your family
06:47 and in your household, in your neighborhood,
06:50 and in your ministry.
06:52 Not for self-aggrandizement,
06:57 but God has set you in that place
07:02 for you to be a blessing to others.
07:10 But sometimes your worst week is their best blessing.
07:15 I want you to see it now.
07:20 He is about to have his worst week
07:24 until it's called the passion.
07:30 But his worst week is what's going to deliver the world.
07:39 I wish somebody would understand me.
07:41 His worst experiences
07:47 will mean you and I will be saved.
07:54 If he didn't have that week,
07:58 we couldn't be in here today
08:02 rejoicing and lifting up the name of Jesus Christ.
08:08 It is significant then that
08:10 he is following the messianic prophetic word
08:16 from in one place, Zechariah,
08:24 another place, Ezekiel,
08:25 and maybe I should read one or two of them,
08:28 and another place, Isaiah.
08:30 And he is coming into Jerusalem
08:33 after the passion of Zechariah 9 and 9,
08:37 where he says, "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion.
08:41 "Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem.
08:45 "Behold, the King cometh unto thee.
08:48 "He is just and having salvation,
08:52 "lowly and riding upon an ass,
08:56 "and upon a colt, the foal of an ass."
09:00 It is prophetically declared that this would take place.
09:07 And yet still, when we look at what is prophetically
09:10 declared about the messianic move of Jesus Christ,
09:15 the Jews, till today, have not accepted
09:19 the fact that he is the Messiah.
09:21 And yet still, he is following the prophetic word
09:26 and working it to the very, very detail.
09:31 So the question becomes, for those of us
09:34 who are inquisitive enough, is this happening
09:39 simply because of his supernatural omniscience,
09:44 or does he know the scripture,
09:49 and is he making it happen in a natural way?
09:52 You see, there are some times God uses your intellect,
09:58 where you figure it out yourself
10:02 based on your cognitive ability, intellectual ability,
10:07 to know how to move.
10:09 But there are other times in your life
10:12 when God bypasses your intellect
10:15 and supernaturally puts you in place.
10:20 I wanna talk to somebody here.
10:22 Oh, God have mercy.
10:24 I was talking to a preacher last night,
10:26 and I told him, I said, I said, "Understand this.
10:31 "You don't want to be where God doesn't want you to be."
10:35 [audience applauding]
10:38 Therefore, pushing yourself into a place
10:43 that you wanna be in where God does not want you to be
10:48 cannot last very long.
10:51 And when you begin to move by your own ingenuity,
10:59 it ends up many times being more conspiratorial
11:03 than it is anointing.
11:05 I wish you'd understand.
11:07 See, you can hire an administrator,
11:10 but you can't hire anointing.
11:12 If anointing doesn't come from God,
11:16 oh, you can hire a genius, but you can't hire anointing,
11:21 because if God does not have his hand on you,
11:24 nothing you do will work,
11:28 and you will spend a lot of time fussing
11:31 and being mean to people who God has his hand on,
11:36 but you can't take God's hand off anybody
11:39 by persecuting them, prosecuting them, or mistreating them.
11:44 When God has his hand on you, you may have a bad week,
11:49 but somebody's going to be blessed.
11:52 [audience applauding]
11:54 I feel like shouting in here.
11:55 I better behave myself.
11:59 It's a critical thing here,
12:01 because there is something that was declared
12:05 even from Zachariah,
12:08 and that is he's coming on an ass,
12:12 and he's coming, the king is coming in meekness.
12:17 So now we have to take a look at the word meek,
12:21 because oftentimes people think that meek means weak.
12:26 Oh, I wish I could, oh, I wish I could shout on that.
12:29 I can't move.
12:30 Because I'm meek doesn't mean I'm weak,
12:36 and it's difficult for the word pratos
12:42 to be translated into English,
12:46 but what the word means is, as best as we can say it,
12:51 is you know that God knows your situation.
12:56 You know that he knew it was coming,
13:04 and because you know he knew,
13:09 when you're blessed, you don't get too high,
13:14 and when you're going through something,
13:17 you don't get too low, because that's meekness.
13:22 Meekness is to have humility when you're blessed,
13:27 and meekness is to have courage when you're going through.
13:31 So the child of God isn't flipping and flopping,
13:35 going up and down.
13:36 One day you're mean, next day you're nice.
13:39 One day you're hurt, next day.
13:41 No, the child of God is moving smoothly.
13:44 [audience laughing]
13:45 Oh, I feel like shouting here.
13:48 The child of God isn't getting crazy when they're blessed.
13:52 The child of God isn't losing their mind
13:55 when they're being mistreated,
13:58 because the same people that are saying Hosea
14:03 at the beginning of the week are going to be saying,
14:07 crucify him at the end of the week.
14:10 Don't get carried away with folks praise,
14:15 because the same folk who are praising you today
14:18 will be trying to walk on you tomorrow.
14:21 [audience applauding]
14:22 Oh, I feel like shouting.
14:24 Give somebody a high five, say, I need meekness.
14:28 How might I describe meekness?
14:32 Meekness to me is the commercial where they had the cab,
14:37 and they had the cab or the truck,
14:41 and they had the wheels going over some tracks,
14:46 like train tracks.
14:48 They put some bulbs on the bottom,
14:50 they put some bulbs on the top,
14:52 and then they put a rod that is connected to the wheel
14:57 between the bulbs.
14:59 As the car would go forward, or the truck, or the vehicle,
15:04 what would happen is every time the wheels
15:06 would go up and down, it would break the bulbs
15:10 on the top and the bottom,
15:11 because the wheels were jumping up and down.
15:14 But the cab, in the cab, they had the same bulbs higher up,
15:19 and they had the same rod going through.
15:23 Now, the bottom rod is breaking all the bulbs,
15:27 but the rod on top is going through
15:30 and not touching anything.
15:32 What is the difference?
15:33 Between the wheels that are breaking all the bulbs
15:38 with that rod, and the rod that is not breaking any bulbs
15:43 is a shock absorber.
15:46 And you see, Jesus now, in the meek person's life,
15:50 becomes their shock absorber.
15:53 So no matter how things are moving up and down,
15:56 and people are vacillating and hollering,
15:58 you're putting me through changes,
16:00 you ain't putting the child of God through changes,
16:04 where Jesus is the shock absorber.
16:07 Because whatever the devil moves to shock,
16:10 God takes the shock and allows your life to be smooth.
16:15 This is why he says, "I will keep them in perfect peace,
16:20 "who's mine."
16:21 (audience cheering)
16:23 Oh, I know you know your Bible.
16:26 Amen, I'll keep you in perfect peace.
16:29 Don't lose your mind over your blessing,
16:32 and don't lose your mind over people cursing you,
16:36 and make sure that when they come after you,
16:39 when you get on your cross,
16:41 you can say, "Father, forgive them for the..."
16:45 (audience cheering)
16:47 Oh, they don't know who they're messing with.
16:49 I feel like having church up in here.
16:52 Give somebody a high five,
16:54 and say, "You don't know who I am."
16:57 Amen, you know me physically, you know me acquaintance-ly,
17:02 but if you ever get in the spirit,
17:05 you will see a spirit over here that cannot be broken.
17:10 You got to get into the spirit
17:12 to know who you're sitting beside.
17:15 Amen, I don't care how you look.
17:17 I don't care how somebody's crying.
17:20 I don't care how somebody looks like they're backed up,
17:23 and it look like they can't make it.
17:25 When you get in the spirit,
17:27 and you have a spiritual understanding,
17:30 you will know it ain't what it look like,
17:32 it is what it is.
17:34 When I've got the power of the Holy Ghost,
17:38 the victory shall be mine,
17:40 because I got a shocker.
17:42 (audience cheering)
17:45 Woo, I feel like shouting.
17:50 When you look at the text,
17:57 there are certain things you're going to have to ask yourself
18:04 because if you notice now,
18:06 people follow for different reasons.
18:11 Oh, I got to deal with this.
18:14 I was talking to a young man,
18:19 and he said,
18:22 and God has his hand on him, ain't no question,
18:28 and it's really something when God is blessing you
18:32 when you lay hands on somebody, get healed,
18:35 and somebody's hollering witchcraft.
18:37 But then, don't lose your mind.
18:42 Jesus healed somebody,
18:48 and they said, this healing is by the power of Beelzebub.
18:54 Jesus.
18:59 How do you mistake the anointing on Jesus
19:04 for something devilish?
19:09 That is not an objective comment.
19:18 That is a subjective comment,
19:23 which is predicated on the envy and the hatred
19:28 that is in certain people.
19:30 Let me say to you this.
19:32 I have been pastoring for a long time,
19:36 and even when God's anointing wasn't on me,
19:42 I knew who his anointing was on.
19:47 Can I say that again?
19:51 Talking to the young man, and God is using him mightily,
19:58 and somebody said, witchcraft.
20:01 And I said to him, don't take that to heart,
20:07 and don't take your blessings to heart.
20:11 Stay focused.
20:16 Stay calm.
20:18 Because if you don't stay calm,
20:23 you will seek to hurt who is hurting you,
20:28 and you would have stepped out of your place.
20:33 Because no child of God has ever been given by God
20:40 the right to seek revenge.
20:48 I wish I could talk to you here.
20:53 I'm going to talk like Bishop Homer.
20:54 I'm going to talk to the people over here.
20:57 No child of God is ever expected
21:02 to sit and plot to go against their enemies,
21:09 because God said, you're out of place.
21:14 You're out of place because you're taking my place.
21:17 Vengeance is mine.
21:21 I wish somebody'd understand this.
21:24 Give somebody a high five.
21:25 Say, keep your hands clean.
21:27 You don't, don't put your hand on a knife.
21:31 Don't put your hand on a gun.
21:33 Don't put your mouth on somebody trying to destroy them,
21:37 because your hands are to be clapped to praise the Lord.
21:42 Your feet are to dance to give God glory.
21:45 Your mouth is to open up and praise him,
21:49 not cuss somebody out,
21:51 not try to destroy somebody with your lips.
21:54 I heard James say, you can't run sweet and bitter water
21:59 through the same fountain.
22:04 It's either you saved or you're not.
22:07 And if you saved, you ain't fighting nobody.
22:10 The battle is the Lord.
22:11 And here's what the Lord says.
22:13 When I get ready to move, you better pray for them
22:17 that despitefully use you,
22:20 'cause when I move,
22:21 I'll cut them off without remedy.
22:26 I feel like having church hair.
22:29 It's his worst week,
22:31 but you're blessed because of it.
22:35 - When the young man,
22:40 he broke my heart,
22:44 because he said after they went after him,
22:47 70% of his congregation left.
22:54 Give some consideration then
23:02 to what Jesus is about to face
23:09 in spite of all of that Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna.
23:14 Because when people follow for the loaves
23:20 and the meat,
23:25 they're not there because of their relationship with God.
23:37 That's the problem in the church today,
23:42 is that there is no loyalty
23:47 because they're not there for relationship with God.
23:54 There is absolutely no way
24:05 for you to have a prayer partner on this front row
24:08 or any one of these rows.
24:10 And both of you have come together
24:14 to have a relationship with God.
24:16 And that relationship is thriving.
24:19 And you find envy in them,
24:23 hatred in them,
24:28 plotting to bring you down.
24:34 When you have a relationship with God,
24:38 somebody is close to you,
24:41 but they aren't there for the reason you're there.
24:45 Oh, it's going to get deep here.
24:47 I'm going to get deep.
24:48 Hey, in this group
24:53 that is close to Jesus,
24:59 that's going to make his week real bad
25:04 is a fellow named Judas.
25:07 So while Jesus is getting the praise from the crowd,
25:15 Judas is upset
25:20 because he's not getting what he followed Jesus to get.
25:29 You got to understand now,
25:30 people who are near you,
25:34 who seek to use you,
25:37 when they don't get what they thought they could get
25:42 from using you,
25:44 they will turn around and betray you.
25:46 They don't see value in supporting a vision.
25:55 They only see value in getting something from the vision.
26:00 You see, Judas was not a part of Jesus' mission
26:06 to save people.
26:09 That's why he complained on everything.
26:12 And when anything was done to bless Jesus,
26:15 he was in the background complaining
26:18 about what they could have used the money for
26:20 other than to bless Jesus this way.
26:23 Jesus said to his disciples one time,
26:26 he said, "This woman has come and served me.
26:30 And you all are sitting around here looking at her funny
26:33 when she has served me.
26:35 She is blessing me and you can't stand it."
26:39 Anybody who is in your midst,
26:41 when God is using you,
26:44 if they're a part of the vision that God has,
26:48 they will get behind the vision and they will be...
26:52 (audience applauding)
26:54 Oh, but if they're not in that vision
26:56 and they're in there for what they can get,
27:00 if they don't get it, watch out.
27:03 I don't want to upset you.
27:07 But in this week,
27:12 Judas is going to have a meeting with the Sanhedrin Council
27:19 and Judas is going to sell Jesus out
27:24 for 30 pieces of silver.
27:29 If you go to the Old Testament,
27:30 the price of a broken slave.
27:33 Touch your neighbor and say,
27:39 "Neighbor, do you know what you have in your anointing?
27:47 You can't sell your anointing for a piece of clothes.
27:52 You can't sell your anointing for some man or some woman.
28:03 You don't know what you have.
28:08 When you walking with Jesus
28:12 and you're going to give him up for 30 pieces of silver.
28:17 But here is the part that makes the week even worse.
28:21 And that is,
28:27 Judas never stopped being in the company.
28:33 If you got a problem, leave.
28:45 [audience applauding]
28:48 Since you don't like Jesus,
28:55 he's not forcing you to be here.
29:03 But Judas changed.
29:10 He was following him.
29:13 He made the deal.
29:15 Then they said he kept on following
29:18 so he could find an occasion against him.
29:23 When did you change?
29:27 You have some people shaking your hand
29:31 who have already changed.
29:35 You got some people still shouting when you're preaching,
29:43 still receiving your blessing, eating at your table.
29:46 And you got to ask the question, when did you change?
29:53 You still act in the same way.
29:58 You still jump in the same way.
30:03 Still talking the same way.
30:05 You're still hugging me the same way.
30:07 But you have changed.
30:13 And this is what makes his week the worst week.
30:17 You see, when you look at the Lord's Supper,
30:20 you look at the Leonardo da Vinci's drawing
30:25 of them around the table.
30:31 But that's not the biblical way.
30:36 It was a triconium.
30:39 And a triconium is the food is on a table in the middle
30:44 and the triconium, one, two, three.
30:51 They don't eat sitting down like this
30:59 as Leonardo da Vinci drew for you.
31:04 They don't eat sitting down along a table like this.
31:09 They eat laying against each other.
31:14 I want to talk to you now.
31:19 How wicked the betrayal is,
31:26 is that he's not sitting separate from Jesus.
31:32 They're all lying and laying against each other.
31:36 Then not only are you laying against me eating my food,
31:46 but you've switched.
31:52 Oh, I feel like preaching now.
31:56 Jesus was so lowly and so meek
32:02 that when they came with the betrayal set up to get him,
32:07 he was so much a part of everybody else
32:13 that they would not have known who to grab.
32:15 So what makes the week even worse
32:21 is when he says, "The one that I kiss,"
32:25 betraying him with something that registers affection.
32:31 Affection.
32:32 How low can you get?
32:37 That you're going to act towards me with affection,
32:43 but the affection is to betray.
32:47 How many people have come up close to you
32:50 and come up close to you, come up close to you,
32:52 come up close to you just to find something about you,
32:55 to destroy you?
32:57 If you don't like me, leave me.
32:59 [audience applauding]
33:02 Ooh, give somebody a high five.
33:06 Say, "What a week."
33:07 I'm almost there.
33:11 The power that is exhibited here
33:22 is going to be exemplified at the end of the week.
33:29 It's going to be on the cross.
33:32 And the level of spiritual dynamics
33:38 is going to ultimately be how you treat
33:48 those who mistreat you.
33:52 [audience applauding]
33:55 Oh, this is, this is...
33:57 I didn't mean to bother you so deeply.
34:02 I have learned in walking with God
34:11 that there is an expectation
34:18 for you and me and I to be like God.
34:25 To be like Jesus.
34:28 Not only in the hosannas,
34:34 but how am I going to act and respond to the crucifier?
34:40 The old man is going to say,
34:52 "However I react is justified."
34:55 But the new man is going to say,
35:01 "That ain't how Jesus acts."
35:02 All right, now I'm going to take you to a type of Christ.
35:09 And a type of Christ in the Old Testament,
35:11 in Genesis, is Joseph.
35:13 Joseph.
35:17 And it's going to be so typical
35:19 that you're going to understand this,
35:21 that without his worst week, we wouldn't be saved.
35:26 Without Joseph's brothers hating him,
35:34 he'd have never got to the palace.
35:37 [audience applauding]
35:41 I got to come down now.
35:44 Oh, my time is up.
35:48 But I got to finish.
35:52 You see, what God does
36:02 is he uses whatever the climate is
36:08 to bring about his will.
36:11 God does not have to change the climate
36:17 to bring about his will.
36:18 There was nothing but hatred in Joseph's family.
36:27 And what Jesus is about to do in chapter 21,
36:36 that's going to change those Hoseas, Hosannas.
36:40 Hi, Hosea.
36:44 And to crucify him is he's going to go
36:47 to the very heart of their religiosity.
36:52 And there's no greater hatred
36:56 than when you start messing with somebody
36:59 who thinks they know God.
37:01 Whenever you present Jesus the way he's to be presented,
37:09 everybody else who thinks they know him,
37:12 they're coming after you.
37:13 [audience laughing]
37:16 He was going to upset their temple.
37:19 Sometimes our temples need to be upset,
37:26 need to shake 'em up,
37:29 because we've got so now
37:32 that money is in the middle of the church.
37:38 And when folk don't get rich
37:43 like they've been promised,
37:44 hmm,
37:47 hatred in Joseph's family,
37:52 here's why.
37:54 You got Jacob
38:00 with two wives
38:04 and going with all the maids.
38:11 Now, you know how baby mamas act.
38:14 Amen.
38:21 Ain't no sense y'all looking like Alice in Wonderland.
38:24 You know the reality of life.
38:27 Wife versus baby mama.
38:30 Amen.
38:33 Do they have a sitcom on that yet?
38:35 They don't have no reality show?
38:38 It's coming, I guarantee you.
38:40 Now, understand the boys.
38:45 And if you really want to know how messed up the family was,
38:50 all you got to do is hear what Jacob says
38:52 about his sons at the end.
38:54 When he was giving blessings and cursings to his sons.
38:58 That's all you got to do.
39:00 Here we're sitting around a table and we're eating,
39:05 and one boy says to the other boy,
39:08 Reuben says to one of his brothers,
39:11 you ain't nothing but the maid's child.
39:13 I ain't got to pass you nothing.
39:16 You need to be serving me.
39:18 And then he has this affinity for Joseph.
39:23 And Joseph comes up talking about his dreams
39:27 that subjects everybody, who do you think you are?
39:31 And if you check the scripture,
39:32 the hatred went from one level to the other,
39:35 but it took hatred.
39:38 Because that's all God had to use.
39:41 I got news for you.
39:42 You got folk around you with envy.
39:45 You got folk around you that dislike you.
39:47 You got folk around you that maybe want to be you
39:51 while they're trying to get rid of you.
39:53 You got folk around you doing all kind of stuff.
39:55 But if that's all God's got,
39:57 that's what he'll use to raise you to another level.
40:02 He don't make them have to like you
40:04 in order for you to go to another level.
40:08 Oh God, I will prepare a table before you
40:13 in the presence of your enemies.
40:17 And if you got the nerve to eat,
40:20 I got the nerve to serve you in front of whosoever.
40:25 It was his worst week.
40:29 (audience cheering)
40:32 I'm closing.
40:36 Why do you want Joseph in the palace?
40:43 I want Joseph in the palace to protect Israel.
40:48 Well, who is Israel?
40:50 His brothers.
40:53 (audience applauding)
40:58 I wish you'd get it.
40:59 I wish you'd get it.
41:02 If Joseph did not have the spiritual development
41:07 that he should have and he did have,
41:11 he would be seeking revenge
41:15 and he would have missed the mission.
41:21 The reason I put you in there is to protect Israel,
41:25 but Israel was the one who sold you out.
41:29 There are times when God will have you to bless people
41:33 who don't like you.
41:34 And God will expect you to bless them anyway
41:38 because you're bigger than their hatred.
41:41 You're bigger than their envy.
41:43 You're bigger than their malice.
41:45 You're bigger.
41:46 (audience cheering)
41:52 And so he did not come down from the cross.
41:57 Oh, I wish I had some strength.
42:05 And he said, "Father, forgive them
42:09 for they know not what they do."
42:13 And listen to this, and I'm done.
42:18 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
42:23 I got news for you.
42:28 He wasn't asking his mother.
42:30 He wasn't asking John.
42:34 He couldn't ask Peter.
42:35 He was gone running hiding.
42:37 He wasn't asking anybody.
42:40 With all I've done for God, how come I'm in this place?
42:47 As forsaken as he felt, he was still talking to God.
42:52 Never stop talking to God.
42:57 No matter how people are treating you,
42:59 never stop talking to God.
43:01 And here's the answer from God.
43:03 The reason I forsook you is to save the world.
43:08 And sometimes you feel forsaken,
43:11 but you're still blessing somebody.
43:15 (audience applauding)
43:18 To those of you who listened to this message,
43:20 the Lord is calling you now.
43:24 He's calling you not only to salvation,
43:27 but he's calling you to have the kind of spirit and attitude
43:32 that even under fire, evil does not come out of you,
43:39 but goodness.
43:44 I want everybody in this house
43:47 who has ever experienced being hurt, even in the church,
43:53 I want you to get up out of your seat,
43:58 stand up where you are if you can't come down here.
44:02 But somehow, when you've been burned by people
44:08 who say they know God,
44:13 and like the man, like Peter cut the man's ear off,
44:18 call himself protecting Jesus.
44:20 But faith cometh by hearing,
44:23 hearing by the word of the Lord.
44:25 We don't need to cut anybody's ears off.
44:28 Talking about how holy we are.
44:31 We need their ears on.
44:34 Thank you, Kevin.
44:37 Because faith cometh by hearing,
44:39 hearing by the word of the Lord.
44:41 The next thing I saw was we spend a lot of time
44:46 dealing with perpetrators, but we never heal the victims.
44:51 The first thing Jesus did was put the man's ear back on.
44:55 And I want your ears to go back on today.
44:59 I want you to realize that in your darkest moment
45:07 when people are treating you
45:10 with such pecunity and disrespect,
45:13 you're still blessing somebody.
45:18 You're still blessing somebody.
45:22 I want you to bow your heads where you are.
45:24 Father, I come in the name of Jesus.
45:27 And I want your healing to flow, healing to flow.
45:36 And the reason I'm declaring it
45:39 is because in spite of what
45:43 these, your children have gone through,
45:47 they're still walking into a church.
45:51 (speaking in foreign language)
45:53 Which means the healing has already begun.
45:57 I need you right now to double that anointing
46:03 in my brother and my sister.
46:05 (gentle music)
46:07 And comfort them by letting them know
46:11 that as long as you're present in their life,
46:14 whatever comes will pass.
46:20 And I thank you now.
46:22 But to complete that healing,
46:25 I pray right now that you give each standing person
46:32 forgiveness for whoever it was
46:35 and whatever system brought them pain.
46:40 Let your forgiveness now rest in them.
46:47 And if you feel delivered, give God a praise right now.
46:53 If you feel like when you walk out of here,
47:00 you will not have any conspiratorial revengeful thoughts,
47:04 give God some praise.
47:06 Thank you, Jesus.
47:08 Thank you, Jesus.
47:10 (gentle music)
47:13 (upbeat music)
47:15 (upbeat music)
47:18 (upbeat music)
47:21 you
