Glendale is the fifth-fastest-growing city in America, with few signs of slowing soon. As we experience this growth, I help businesses and people relocating here connect to their new communities.

I am excited to lead the Glendale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors this year as Chair. Membership in the Glendale Chamber is the best way for businesses and non-profits to connect with our dynamic business community.

As a Global Real Estate Advisor with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, I specialize in Relocation, helping people moving here connect with their new community, and those moving away find their next community. For more information, visit lisarbaker.com

00:00 You might be surprised to learn that Glendale is the fifth fastest growing city in the U.S.
00:07 Well, with all that growth, it can be hard to find a new place to live and a new community.
00:12 And we are so excited to have realtor Lisa Arbaker here to talk a little bit about both.
00:17 Welcome, Lisa.
00:18 Thank you.
00:19 Thank you.
00:20 Thanks for being here.
00:21 So, as I said in our little intro, Glendale is the fifth fastest growing city in the United
00:26 States.
00:27 Yes, absolutely.
00:28 And you can see between just the housing growth, everything with our sports and entertainment
00:33 district and we're hosting the Final Four coming up next weekend.
00:36 We've had the Super Bowl.
00:38 We have what's going to be the largest hotel in the state of Arizona.
00:42 It's going to be opening in Glendale later this year.
00:44 And that's by?
00:45 Yes.
00:46 Okay.
00:47 It is right next to that Mattel theme park.
00:49 And so it's, yeah, the growth and not to mention the businesses and industries that have been
00:53 coming to Glendale too.
00:55 We've had between the 101 and the 303, so many companies move in there.
01:00 So the growth has really been pretty amazing in Glendale.
01:03 And we don't really see any indications that it will slow down anytime soon.
01:06 It is pretty astounding with all of those businesses that you just named from theme
01:10 parks to hotels.
01:11 We know we have the stadium out there.
01:13 There's a lot of growth.
01:15 Businesses, people are coming to the West Valley.
01:18 Yes.
01:19 This is where people are going right now.
01:21 So with that brings a people needing to live there because if you're going to work there,
01:26 people want to live in the same city where they work.
01:29 So that's going to lead to people needing a homes and be a community.
01:34 And that's where you come in.
01:35 Yes.
01:36 And I work with people and with businesses because I work with Glendale Chamber of Commerce
01:41 and I'm the board of directors, the board chair of this year for 2024.
01:45 And what we do is help bring businesses to the business community, especially Glendale
01:50 with all the growth.
01:51 So if you have just a few hundred employees or just a few employees, we bring everybody
01:56 together.
01:57 That's really cool.
01:58 So yeah, with people relocating their businesses here or relocating for work, I specialize
02:02 in relocation.
02:03 So when you're coming here, you know, you really need someone.
02:06 I'm not just trying to find someone a home.
02:08 I want them to find the community where they're going to live and where they're going to enjoy
02:11 being.
02:12 And that's what's really important is finding, you know, business community and also your
02:16 home community.
02:17 And that's, and even if you move away, I can help you find your new community.
02:21 I love that.
02:22 You've got everybody covered.
02:23 We'll help when people leave.
02:24 But I've got everybody covered.
02:25 That's really, really great because like we were saying, yeah, bringing people into a
02:29 new city, it can feel sometimes like, oh, I moved here for work or maybe I moved here
02:34 from across the valley and I feel like I've almost come to a new state or I've relocated
02:39 to this completely new area.
02:40 You need not only a place to live, you need people around you.
02:43 And then those businesses want their employees to feel connected to each other, to feel connected
02:50 to their community.
02:51 So tell me how they get involved with you.
02:53 Well, you can get involved with me one of two ways through the Glendale Chamber of Commerce
02:58 and our various committees.
03:00 We have public policy committee chamber.
03:03 We do advocacy.
03:04 We do military and veterans affairs, huge, huge military and veterans community.
03:09 Yeah.
03:10 And Glendale Chamber of Commerce are also on my website, lisarbaker.com, licensed realtor
03:15 and global real estate advisor.
03:17 That's great.
03:18 And tell me what, just really quickly, some of the programs that you offer.
03:21 I know you mentioned a few little things that you guys do, but in terms of the chamber,
03:25 I know there's so much going on.
03:27 Oh yes, absolutely.
03:29 So not only our committees and we have education committee.
03:31 We're trying to be as far reaching as possible to connecting education with workforce development,
03:38 with employers coming into the community, advocacy and public policy, the laws that
03:42 are going into place, legislation that affects businesses and how businesses are affected
03:47 by them.
03:48 Military and veteran affairs, helping them find a community too and helping reinforce
03:51 that community.
03:52 Gotcha.
03:53 So, yeah.
03:54 And then we have our in-person events where you can be sitting next to really just anybody
03:59 in the business community.
04:00 And we aren't limited to Glendale.
04:01 We have members from all over the area.
04:04 That's great.
04:05 And that's really what you want, right?
04:06 You want to be there in person.
04:07 Yes.
04:08 So you want to meet those people who live in your same community and get to know them
04:10 face to face.
04:11 Exactly.
04:12 All right, Lisa.
04:13 And of course, they can always come to you if they're looking to buy a home as well.
04:15 Absolutely.
04:16 So you've got them covered like we said before.
04:17 This is great.
04:18 All right, Lisa, thank you so much for being here to tell us all about that.
04:20 that.
