00:00 [News Anchor] The power supply will be cut off on the first week of April in some places in Metro Manila and Laguna due to the lack of maintenance.

00:11 [News Anchor] While the sun is burning hot, Jeneline is still outside her house in Barangay UP Campus, Daliman, Quezon City.

00:19 [Jeneline] I can't stay inside the house, it's too hot.

00:22 [News Anchor] Luisa's family also can't stand the heat of the weather.

00:26 [Luisa] We'll stay outside and it's a bit wet.

00:30 [Jeneline] We'll put water on the roof so the heat inside the house will be absorbed.

00:33 [News Anchor] It seems they'll sweat more due to the announcement of line maintenance of Meralco when April comes.

00:39 [News Anchor] Some places in Barangay UP Campus will be cut off due to the lack of electricity.

00:44 [News Anchor] Some parts of Quezon City, Navotas, Makati City, Pasig, Muntinlupa and Laguna will also be added to the list.

00:53 [Meralco] This is what we announce every Thursday and Friday.

00:57 But during summer months, we are more careful knowing that our customers are really in need of power supply.

01:05 [News Anchor] Last Sunday, the Energy Department said that the Luzon grid can be yellow alert in April and May.

01:11 The operation of hydroelectric power plants was affected by the lack of rain and the shortage of aluminum.

01:17 Meralco assured that their coordination with the Energy Department will continue and they have plans to cut the supply of electricity.

01:26 [Meralco] We will be able to provide sufficient energy supply from our power suppliers.

01:33 This includes our participation in the interim power supply agreement to meet our needs.

01:44 They are also urging the public to be careful with the consumption of electricity.
