00:00 Chechya's Easter procession of the burning Judas has begun. Only 28 villages in northern
00:09 Bohemia carry out this ancient tradition.
00:23 In line with ritual, the eldest boy in the village is wrapped in straw and turned into
00:27 Judas. The straw suit, which weighs over 15 kilos, takes several days to prepare.
00:44 Carollers lead the Judas from door to door in the village. The boys who take part are
00:49 under the age of 15. The tradition finishes with a procession through the town.
01:08 The Judas is then symbolically burned with carollers rattling and singing.
