00:00 This man comes with his own light. I love that.
00:03 He shines on his own.
00:05 I wish that were true, Charlie.
00:07 Carl MacGuffin, what a bloody pleasure it is to meet you, mate.
00:10 Thank you.
00:11 Agents of Shield, one of the greatest shows ever made, Twin Peaks.
00:15 I was a huge, huge fan of that.
00:17 I also love Sex and the City as well.
00:18 Oh, bless your heart. Thank you.
00:19 You've ticked off a few.
00:21 This is another undertones, dystopian, you don't quite know what you're going to get.
00:26 You slot right into a story like this, don't you?
00:28 I'm typecast again, Tony. Typecast again.
00:32 It was really exciting to be a part of this journey.
00:36 Starting with Jonah Nolan as our director and creative head, it's been a joy.
00:43 How unique an experience is it to work with someone like Jonathan Nolan?
00:46 His brother's been grabbing a lot of the headlines, understandably.
00:49 But this man's shaped a lot of fantastic drama, not only on TV, but in film over the last 20 years.
00:54 How unique an experience is it to work with him?
00:56 Very unique. He really understands the technical side of the camera as well as what we need as actors.
01:02 So he brings both of things to bear in the process.
01:04 He's really special and he's a great guy.
01:07 You've tackled a few stories with pre-designed fan bases, I guess, from, of course, Dune and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
01:15 By the time you brought back Twin Peaks, there was a lot of us out there who were at the edge of our seats
01:19 hoping this is still going to match up to what we saw back in the day.
01:21 Thank you.
01:22 So I guess you must feel pretty ready to be going up against all these gaming fans who have many hopes hanging on this.
01:30 They have high hopes and I hope we were able to assuage their fears and concerns, which I understand.
01:38 But we have people involved with this at the very top that are actually fans of the game.
01:43 So Jonah's played for a number of years.
01:45 One of our other writers, Graham Wagner, has played for like 10 years, something like that.
01:49 So they really, really love the game. They understand the game.
01:53 And it was their mission to bring this to the fans so that they would be happy.
01:57 So I hope they've succeeded.
01:59 You attempted a little bit to jump into the gaming universe yourself.
02:02 I tried. I'm just not good.
02:03 To get ready for this.
02:04 I am not good. I am not good.
02:06 Sadly, I die every five seconds.
02:08 I imagine as an actor's actor, you'd be spending all those hours getting into character, sat in a dark room,
02:14 trying to get to the end of however many fallouts there have been.
02:16 And for people who haven't played this game before, people who aren't coming with all these preconceptions and ideas of what it's going to be,
02:24 what can we expect?
02:25 Oh, gosh. Well, first of all, it's obviously set in the world of Fallout.
02:30 So it has many, many, many of the elements.
02:32 Not everything could be put in, but many of the elements from the video game.
02:36 It's a very complex, immersive world and suits itself to the telling of this story, which is basically a journey.
02:42 It's a tale of a woman's struggle to survive, basically.
02:46 And I think it delivers pretty much on every front.
02:50 So fingers are crossed for great reception.
02:53 And for me, some of the other nerds out there, more peaks in the future.
02:56 I mean, we had to wait quite a while.
02:58 I know. 25 years.
03:00 I don't know what to say. Probably not.
03:04 But you never know.
03:05 You never know. Just a slim bit of hope is all I need.
03:07 A slim bit of hope. I guess so.
03:10 We'll see. We'll see.
