00:00The Mississippi State Bulldogs have seen a drastic change to their baseball team
00:04this season. Their attitude and toughness has improved dramatically, however, their
00:11pitching has improved tremendously. Mississippi State head coach Chris
00:17Limones hired former South Carolina pitching coach Justin Parker this summer
00:22and Parker has made a positive impact to the staff. However, disaster truck right
00:29before SEC play began as Nate Dom started Friday night against the LSU
00:35Tigers and went down with a knee injury. At the time, Cal Stevens seemed like the
00:41best person to go in and take over for Dom. Although the Tigers roughed up
00:46Stevens as he gave up five runs and only two innings of work, since then he has
00:53been dominant and solidified himself as the ace of the team.
00:56Stevens does not beat himself on the mound as he pounds the strike zone and
01:01is fearless with his mid-90s fastball. The Bulldogs have faced some of the top
01:06lineups in the country during this stretch, but Stevens lets his
01:11defense work behind him.
