Inside one of Port St Mary's oldest buildings transformed into restaurant, cafe and bar

00:10 I know there's a lot of different rooms and a lot of different functions within Calis.

00:14 Would you mind going through what sort of things you've got on offer here?

00:17 Yeah, absolutely. So it's a very versatile space, we would call it multifaceted.

00:22 As you come in through the main entrance, we've got our sort of, during the daytime,

00:27 it's a coffee shop kind of a lounge kind of vibe, which will transition really nicely in the evenings

00:33 into a lovely place to come and have a drink, whether that's a cocktail, a glass of wine,

00:38 non-alcoholic beverages of course.

00:40 Then coming through into our garden room, which is where we are at the moment,

00:44 this looks out over our garden and out onto Chapel Bay.

00:48 We've got about 34 covers in here, which will be lovely for lunches, afternoon teas,

00:54 and for use into the evenings as well.

00:57 Then up onto our first floor, we've got a mezzanine level, which we are fitting out with

01:04 sofas and armchairs for a nice sort of relaxed, kind of a couchy vibe moment up there,

01:11 which I'm excited for. I think that's going to be really nice.

01:14 And we've also got a restaurant on our first floor, which again, we will use for our lunches.

01:21 And then later on in the year, when we start doing our evening a la carte service,

01:25 that space as well as the garden room will really come into its own.

01:29 Yes, we do have a private dining space as well, the Manxovia Suite.

01:33 This will work for parties of up to 24 in a variety of configurations with the tables and chairs.

01:41 But we've also incorporated a beautiful projector screen, the AV gear.

01:47 So it'll work for social events, but also for corporate use as well.

01:52 And a farm shop, is that right?

01:54 Absolutely, yes. We've got a farm shop on the corner as well.

01:58 Particularly excited for all of it, obviously, but we're really excited with the farm shop

02:04 for using that as a space to really champion local products.

02:09 There are so many fantastic local producers on the island doing a huge variety of different things.

02:15 So we're really excited and we've been really thrilled with the response that we've had

02:21 from the local producer community with a view to stocking in the farm shop and things.

02:26 So we're really excited to really showcase that space and get that absolutely chock full of

02:32 lovely bits and pieces for people to come in and have a little look at.

02:35 The big question is, do you know when it will open officially?

02:39 We are aiming for early May. Obviously, as anyone who's watched Brand Designs will know,

02:46 you can never be quite sure, can you, when things are going to come together.

02:50 We are at the stage now where everything is pulling together really nicely.

02:53 So we're confident that we're on track for early May.

02:56 We're just really excited to share that date with you a little bit closer to the time

03:00 when we've got a little bit more everything in place.
