00:00 Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office.
00:04 Now through the next few days it's rain or showers, some sunshine in the mix as well
00:10 and some chilly mornings. Let's take you through the bigger picture.
00:13 You can see blues bathing most of the UK, hence the reason why it's feeling rather chilly outside,
00:18 particularly through the mornings before the sun really gets to work.
00:21 At the same time, always a chance of showers and also some outbreaks of rain towards the west
00:25 before another feature comes in on Thursday, again sliding its way southwards, more cloud and also some outbreaks of rain.
00:32 Let's backtrack then to Tuesday evening.
00:34 Showers wherever you are, although for Wales and the West Country you could get away with some clearer skies through evening time.
00:39 These showers will cluster together with strong winds for Shetland, Orkney, Caithness, Sutherland as well as Aberdeenshire.
00:46 So some lively weather here through into the early hours of Wednesday morning
00:49 and these showers across England and Wales again moving their way southwards and eastwards.
00:54 At the same time, notice across Northern Ireland you'll find more cloud towards the early hours of tomorrow morning
01:01 and that will then bring with it some patchy rain and drizzle.
01:04 But across the spine of the country, some clearer skies, quieter conditions for the likes of Dumfries and Galloway,
01:10 Cumbria and Lancashire and we will see some local frost in the countryside.
01:15 Now through tomorrow morning, you can see this feature here,
01:17 windiest weather across the north-east of Scotland will be through the morning
01:20 and then these stronger winds slide down the eastern side of England.
01:23 So a windy afternoon, cold in the wind with further showers.
01:27 Clouds will build across many parts of the country through the day with a scattering of showers
01:31 but for Northern Ireland, it's cloudy skies, it's damp skies.
01:34 This rain and drizzle then moves in across Anglesey, Kerry, Diggion, Gwynedd, down towards Pembrokeshire
01:40 as we head through the afternoon, eventually reaching the West Country as the cloud thickens ahead of it.
01:45 Showers continue through the afternoon, feeling cold along the east coast, 9, 10, 11 degrees Celsius.
01:50 Inland, we could just about squeeze a 13 degrees Celsius.
01:54 So through Wednesday evening, expect some rain across the West Country, West Wales
01:58 as the rain just continues across Northern Ireland, a rather cloudy evening here.
02:03 Eventually, we'll see a few showers as the cloud breaks up.
02:05 Elsewhere, some clearer skies, showers continue along this east coast but further north with a lighter wind.
02:11 Again, the chance of a rural frost as temperatures dip close to freezing.
02:15 However, into Thursday morning, cloud will thicken across the western side of Scotland
02:20 and again, we'll see the onset of some wet weather here as the winds pick up a little bit of strength.
02:25 Before that, stepping out first thing on Thursday morning, it's a cold one yet again.
02:30 For most though, across England and Wales, you'll see some fine weather, some sunshine through the morning
02:35 even across eastern Scotland as this ridge extends across the influence of a high pressure sitting across the Atlantic.
02:41 But this feature here will slide down the country into Friday, a legacy of showers across eastern counties.
02:47 Through Friday then, the air remains cold across Scotland's eastern counties
02:51 but we'll see more settled weather just trying to creep in from the west and southwest into the weekend.
02:57 This weather front here will bring the chances for showers towards the north.
03:01 Elsewhere, you'll see some drier and brighter weather.
03:04 Now, through Thursday morning, you can see where the fine weather is.
03:08 Cold, but you'll see some brighter conditions as well as some sunshine.
03:12 Thickening cloud will bring outbreaks of rain persistent through the morning across western Scotland with a brisk breeze.
03:18 Through the afternoon, some patchy rain across more eastern and southern parts of Scotland.
03:23 Northern Ireland also seeing some outbreaks of rain as it moves down towards the Isle of Man
03:27 as well as northern parts of Wales and northern counties of England.
03:30 Bringing on to drier and brighter weather the further south you go as temperatures creep up a notch.
03:35 12 to 15 degrees Celsius, some warmth in that sunshine.
03:40 So through Thursday evening and overnight, that rain slowly clears.
03:43 We will see some showers across eastern counties.
03:45 The cloud will come and go on Friday and you'll see some brighter weather coming through
03:49 as temperatures rise around 12 to 14 degrees Celsius.
03:52 And I'll see you later.
