00:00 Venezuela holds a day of consultation on community projects to improve the welfare of the people
00:05 and address their needs.
00:07 From Caracas, our correspondent Gladys Quesada for more details on today's electoral exercise.
00:12 Yes, thanks for the time and the contact once again here in Telesur English and for all
00:19 of the audience from the south.
00:22 Right now I'm currently in downtown Caracas, in the center of Caracas, in San Agustin,
00:28 one of the most humble and also populated and crowded neighborhoods here in the capital
00:34 of Venezuela.
00:35 So far people are still voting and so far also the consultation of the communes is still
00:42 underway as the people are still voting for several projects.
00:46 As we were saying in other emissions, today is a day that follows in line after a discussion
00:53 of several of these projects that seek to enhance the livelihood of the people and the
00:59 conditions of living of the people.
01:01 In this college, in this voting center that is also a commune center here in San Agustin,
01:07 people are voting because they need maybe water sanitation better or improvements in
01:14 the infrastructure of schools and they are voting for their projects of their preference
01:20 on the present needs and also to give that afterwards to the executive so they could
01:26 use all the resources and allocate the financing to solve the issues, the pressing issues of
01:32 San Agustin.
01:33 I want to say, because I think it's paramount to clear that San Agustin was one of the most
01:39 depressed and one of the most popular and humble communities and also neighborhoods
01:45 here in Caracas, but the government has made a rescue, a salvage of San Agustin, not only
01:52 because of enhancement or bettering the infrastructure, also because they are bringing several projects
02:00 here to the neighborhood as the alternative theater festival that had parts and had place
02:07 and took venues here in San Agustin for their inhabitants.
02:11 So far that's the information, that's what is happening.
02:14 It is expected that the international observers will offer a press briefing later on the day,
02:20 later on the night also, and it is expected that the voting and commune centers will be
02:26 closing and afterwards they will be receiving the results about which one are the main topics
02:32 and which one are the main projects that are going to receive the financing and the management
02:38 by the government.
02:39 That's the information so far.
02:40 I will be touring Caracas and I will be giving you all the information.
02:44 So right now, back to you.
