00:17 For DOTR, there is a good and successful way to implement the motorcycle lane on Commonwealth Avenue.

00:25 That is why they are studying the possibility of putting a motorcycle lane on EDSA

00:31 compared to the Commonwealth Avenue which has more than 6 to 18 lanes in different directions.

00:38 EDSA is more visible.

00:41 What if we widen the bike lane a little bit and that lane will be a motorcycle and bicycle lane.

00:51 But that is just the initial concept.

00:55 According to MMDA, the bicycle lane on EDSA is underutilized.

01:00 If they will put a motorcycle lane, there should be a division where the motor and bicycle are separate.

01:11 The proposals for that should be studied more closely.

01:14 We should give control to the lanes where the bike lanes are. It will not actually solve the whole problem of EDSA.

01:24 But at least we should have a plan to help reduce the number of bike lanes.

01:30 The chairperson of the Motorcycle Rights Organization is against this.

01:34 He says that the need for a more narrow lane is not necessary but rather a more strict implementation of the traffic laws.

01:42 What needs to be studied here is the root cause of the problem, which is the flow of traffic.

01:48 They are focused on attracting riders but our airing drivers are not focused.

01:54 The problem of discipline is the problem of all types of vehicles, not just motorcycles.

02:01 Senate Committee on Public Services Chairperson Grace Poe understands the intention of the proposal.
