An abandoned dog that starred in a TV ad for an Omaze house prize has won its own home - and has been adopted after 300 days in care.

Nine-year-old Staffie Billy was found in the Camden area of London and brought into the RSPCA Finsbury Park Hospital in London last year.

His placid and friendly nature saw him take a starring role in the charity’s campaign with fundraising company Omaze - and now after over 300 days in the shelter he has finally found his forever home.

00:00 I'm delighted that the RSPCA is partnering with Omaze again for their latest million
00:26 pound house draw in Somerset. I've always absolutely loved animals and that's why I'm
00:32 so proud to support the RSPCA. They've been rescuing animals for 200 years and help hundreds
00:39 of thousands of pets, wildlife and farm animals every single year. I'm honoured that the RSPCA
00:45 has asked me to be an ambassador. The RSPCA is the oldest animal welfare charity. They rescue,
00:52 rehabilitate, rehome and release animals in desperate need of care.
00:57 Since 2019, rehoming rates have fallen by 34% meaning thousands fewer rescue pets are being
01:06 adopted. The house is just so beautiful. I love the incredible kitchen, the grounds and the gardens,
01:17 spacious living areas, just great views. I mean it's perfect for entertaining family and friends.
01:23 And the lucky winner will also get £100,000 in cash.
01:28 We've got two spaniels, Lola who is obsessed with tennis balls
01:35 and Bess who just wants to cuddle you all the time. They are the girls and they're just fab.
01:39 I've tried getting my children to watch Nativity too because obviously I'm in it
01:47 and they're not in the least bit interested.
01:51 My most favouritest ever one has got to be obviously Stacey and Gavin and Stacey. I think
01:56 it's the most fun I've ever had on a job as well. I mean really difficult to get through the day
02:00 when everybody is just making you laugh so I think that would go down as my favourite.
