00:00Former Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas wants another shot in the NFL.
00:08On Friday, the 32-year-old told ESPN's Adam Schefter that he is ready to make a return
00:13to the league.
00:14Thomas, of course, has not played since August of 2020 when he was released by the Baltimore
00:19Ravens.
00:20I'm Claudette Montana-Pattison with Fan Nation Now, joining me is Corbin Smith of All Seahawks.
00:25Corbin, do you think that there still is a market in the NFL for Earl Thomas?
00:31I would expect there will be a few teams that maybe have a little bit of interest kicking
00:35the tires if they think that he has gotten past the off-field issues that he dealt with
00:41a couple years ago.
00:42There were some teams that were looking at him after the Ravens released him.
00:47He was supposed to have a visit with the Houston Texans, one specifically, but it just never
00:51came to fruition.
00:52They ended up canceling that free agent visit during the season.
00:56He didn't latch on anywhere, didn't play anywhere last year.
00:59He's going to be 33 years old soon, so he's getting to be an older player and hasn't played
01:04for two years.
01:05So if he's going to come back, now would be the time to do it.
01:09I expect there might be a few teams willing to kick the tires, but at the same time, it
01:14is going to be very challenging for an older safety, even one with the resume he has, to
01:19be able to get onto a 53-man roster for the 2022 season.
