00:06MJ, thank you for coming on with me.
00:08I appreciate it.
00:09Yes, sir. It's a true blessing to be here.
00:10All right.
00:11You are one of the most heavily recruited quarterbacks in the country.
00:14And why don't you tell everybody why you are a true dual threat quarterback?
00:19Well, you know, because I'm not a run-first guy.
00:21You know, I like to stay in the pocket, read the field, look for open receivers.
00:26But if I have to leave the pocket and make a great play on my feet,
00:28running or pass, I can definitely do that just as good as I can stay in the pocket.
00:32So that's why I feel like I'm a true dual threat quarterback.
00:35Excellent.
00:36Is there anything about playing the quarterback position that you like the best?
00:40I just like the leadership skills that I can develop.
00:44You know, I can help the team.
00:45The team looks up to me.
00:47Everybody can count on me, and I can just help everybody get better.
00:51When you were younger, what was the first position that you played?
00:55I played linebacker and a little bit of running back.
00:59And then at one practice, they put the ball in my hand,
01:02and they just saw that I was a true quarterback, and I just stuck with it.
01:05All right.
01:06What age group were you when you started playing QB?
01:08I was 7 years old.
01:10Seven years old.
01:11So you've been doing it for the better part of 10 years already.
01:13Yes, sir.
01:14And you have two years of high school left.
01:16What areas of your game do you think you need to work on the most moving forward?
01:20Well, I've definitely been working on it this offseason and during the season last year.
01:24But I definitely want to get to the point where I can go ahead
01:27and get in the line of scrimmage
01:29and know what everybody is doing before the ball's even snapped.
01:32So definitely that defensive, like, so I can be on the defensive side of the ball,
01:36and I can know just pre-snap reads.
01:38I can get quicker at those and just the mindset game.
01:42So that's definitely what I'm trying to develop.
01:44Absolutely.
01:46As far as recruiting goes, you have close to 30 offers already.
01:49And, again, you've got two years of high school remaining.
01:52Who are some of the programs that are currently recruiting you the hardest?
01:56Yes, sir.
01:57I would say Georgia Tech, Penn State, Michigan, Georgia, Mizzou, Oregon,
02:05Florida State, Miami, and Florida.
02:08Okay.
02:09So you've got schools from all across the country.
02:11Are you concerned about distance from home,
02:13or does it really matter to you once it becomes decision time?
02:16Distance definitely doesn't matter.
02:18You know, if that's the best place for me, then I'm going to go wherever it takes.
02:22Okay.
02:23Have you developed a relationship with any particular coaching staff,
02:26or is it just everybody's starting to come at you and you're trying to figure it out?
02:30I mean, it's kind of everybody's coming at me.
02:32I'm taking it slow.
02:33Me and my family, we're all humble.
02:34We're taking it slow.
02:35We're not going to rush anything.
02:36But I definitely have had great relationships with many head coaches,
02:42and I definitely develop them.
