Transcript
00:00How has the pandemic disrupted recruitment so far?
00:03Man, just just about every single layer of recruiting has changed
00:08kids who are
00:10Sort of stable are the ones who were already established as sophomores and juniors
00:15And as we know, you know, you're talking about teenagers, you know, there's a lot of kids who really
00:20Ascend physically going from from junior year to senior year
00:24so right now all of that is being masked because we can't physically go out and evaluate but
00:31Thankfully technology is helping some of those kids. They're able to you know, take videos of themselves working out
00:36Maybe you know dunking a basketball or just showing athleticism in any way to create interest a lot of these programs
00:43You're seeing a ton of virtual tours and this has probably done the best job. They had a virtual junior day
00:50It was like 12 hours where they had kids basically checking in online and staying through, you know
00:57Dinner time so it was truly an all-encompassing day and then since then we've seen other schools get creative
01:03Virginia Tech brought in former players to showcase their favorite memories of playing, you know
01:10At Lane Stadium and Texas A&M maybe is is in tune as much as anyone with college football recruiting
01:17They actually had a Madden tournament between coaches and recruits
01:21So I think that was probably the most engaging way to to dive into connecting with these kids outside of you know
01:28FaceTime phone calls and texts, but there is no doubt that
01:32The bulk of the country especially among those prospects who aren't quite yet there. They're hurting
01:40significantly because of this virus in this pandemic
