00:02 - Are you ready for some football, basketball,
00:10 some practice, maybe?
00:12 How about just some voluntary activities?
00:14 That's what we're going to call it on college campuses.
00:17 Starting June 1st,
00:19 the NCAA Division I Management Council
00:22 ruled Wednesday night that they're gonna open the doors now
00:27 for schools to bring back athletes in,
00:30 obviously a safe set of protocols,
00:32 but to begin working out voluntarily on campus
00:37 together in small groups,
00:39 and we will see how it goes.
00:41 Hopefully it goes well.
00:42 If you want to see football in the fall,
00:43 this is the first step towards that.
00:45 But the schools,
00:46 the teams that are allowed back football,
00:48 men's basketball, women's basketball,
00:51 we are awaiting word on other sports soon,
00:54 probably later this week or early next week.
00:57 But a big step forward.
00:59 We'll see for these schools how soon they want to be back.
01:02 We'll see what sort of the testing protocol
01:04 they're going to put into place
01:06 and exactly how they're going to work these workouts.
01:09 I was told by one athletic director
01:11 that they had a quote,
01:12 "pretty sobering call with Brian Hainline,
01:16 the chief medical officer of the NCAA
01:18 about the cost of testing."
01:20 It's gonna be just one of many hurdles
01:22 that schools are going to have to work their way through.
01:25 They want the players back.
01:26 They want the games to go on.
01:28 But what has to happen before then, a whole lot.
01:30 We'll see how they handle it.
