Duke quarterback Chase Brice didn't have eye-popping numbers, but with a huge day from the running game, he didn't need much in the win over Charlotte.

00:00 The way we ran the ball on that first drive, obviously, I mean, it took two plays,
00:05 but back seeing the hole and it's always good to be able to do that.
00:09 Turn and hand the ball off and let your guy go work.
00:12 And it's always great to open up the series, open up the game with a touchdown.
00:17 So it was awesome.
00:19 For me, I took advantage of using both of those, let my body rest.
00:26 Coach let us have a few days off and let our body rest.
00:32 And also mentally kind of take a break.
00:35 Going six weeks straight, Power Five football, ACC is not easy.
00:41 And so we went through the thick right there and
00:44 having that bye week really kind of got our feet under us.
00:48 And I thought offensively,
00:51 there were times tonight where it showed that we took full advantage.
00:57 I think we've taken the games in the past and
01:04 each week have built off something.
01:06 And I think this week with the bye week, we just took advantage of trying to get
01:11 better at the things that we know we need to get better at and also just
01:15 playing faster and being more confident.
01:21 We talk about all the time, it's hard to come out of the gate six games in a row
01:27 without a summer, without a spring, without a lot of those things
01:32 that help you become a great football team.
01:34 And I think the goal is to continue these next few games and
01:41 build off what we did tonight.
01:42 We're gonna go watch the film and there's a lot of things we need to correct, but
01:45 there's a lot of things that we did out there that was really good.
01:49 And so that, you know, I'm very encouraged by it.
