Duke coach David Cutcliffe discussed the targeting call that injured NC State's starting quarterback, as well as two fruitless trips into the red zone.

00:00You know, I can't comment on it because I really don't see it.
00:05It's all the way across the field.
00:07I hear our coaches commenting on it.
00:10You know, they look at that in the box.
00:13All of that, when it's called, we all have to remember
00:17is in a point of view for player safety.
00:21So I didn't see it.
00:22I couldn't see it clearly on the jumbotron, the replay.
00:27The officials were talking with me.
00:29I think, you know, some of our coaches may have been surprised,
00:32but we're always going to be that way when it's our guy.
00:35So we'll look at it tomorrow, and we have an opportunity.
00:38If we want to comment on it, we can send it in,
00:41but that's how we operate.
00:42We just send in comments to the conference office.
00:46Well, I don't know if it's energy.
00:47We got plenty of energy.
00:49As I said, you got to look at the sequencing of calls,
00:53what we're doing, who you're doing it with, every detail.
00:57It's not like we practice poorly.
00:59So there's no quick fix just by commenting.
01:03It is just a hard area of the field.
01:06It's a hard part of football,
01:08and we've got to find a way to be better at it,
01:10or we won't win. That's the bottom line.
01:12And our guys, as I said tonight, they were so willing to fight,
01:17and if we put them in the best positions they can be in,
01:20I believe we can get it done.
01:21We missed an opportunity to score on one,
01:25and then, as I said, I did a poor job
01:28with sequencing of play calls,
01:30if you understand what I mean, and the other one.
01:33If you score those two drives against a defense like that,
01:37you're feeling pretty solid about the day.
01:39Fourteen more points puts a different spin on this game.
