00:00 What was big for me was when they came, when the whole entire coaching staff came to visit
00:05 me at my former high school, Whitney Young.
00:08 That was really big for me.
00:09 And they sat down, they talked to me, and of course I had the relationship where Coach
00:15 Shire is from Chicago and also Coach K, so that was pretty big for me as well.
00:21 All right, so I first started playing football when I was about five years old, and I played
00:26 up until when I was 11, and I stopped, and then I came back my freshman year and played
00:31 football.
00:32 I was a wide receiver and like safety.
00:35 But it really helps me, like instincts, knowing where to go, and just playing the ball, like
00:42 with the safety, like defense, defensively wise.
00:45 And then, you know, just toughness as well.
00:48 You have to be tough in football, just knowing where to go, and knowing what's around, because
00:55 if you get hit and you're not aware of what's going on, then it's going to hurt even worse.
01:02 You know, Coach K, he has me playing on the ball and off the ball, which is great, you
01:07 know, because he can mix up the lineups.
01:09 Jay Gould and me, Jeremy Roach and me, sometimes me and Wendell out there on the court at the
01:13 same time.
01:15 And it's actually interesting for me to just know, like knowing where I could play and
01:20 where I could fit in.
01:22 And what's translated well for me from high school is just playing off the ball, coming
01:27 off the screens and knocking down shots, playing great defense, getting my hands in the passing
01:33 lanes, and just always being in attack mode as well.
