Duke tackle Devery Hamilton has plenty to be thankful for. He's getting the chance to play again after injury wiped out most of last season. He also transferred from Stanford to Duke, only to see the Pac-12 call off its fall season, while the ACC still plans to play.

00:00 >> So I got injured the fourth game last year and
00:03 I missed the rest of the season which was tough.
00:05 But the trainers at Stanford did a great job while I was still out there,
00:10 getting my rehab, getting me to return to play.
00:13 And then as soon as I got down here,
00:15 at the beginning of the summer the trainers have done a great job here.
00:17 It's just about having the discipline and the focus to come in every day,
00:23 get treatment, do rehab, things like that.
00:25 Just listening to what the trainers and the strength coaches have to say.
00:29 And then just doing the extra work that it takes on the front end to warm up and
00:33 then on the back end just to take care of it.
00:35 But I'm good to go, I'm ready to roll.
00:37 My mentality is that everything happens for a reason.
00:42 There's a bigger picture of everything.
00:45 Sometimes there's gonna be obstacles, hard times in front of you, but
00:48 you just gotta weather the storm.
00:49 And when I decided to transfer back in December,
00:55 January, we didn't know that all this was gonna happen.
00:59 But I'm glad that I'm here.
01:01 I'm glad that the ACC is still trying to move forward with this as safely as
01:05 possible.
01:06 And I'm just looking forward to play.
01:08 Like I said, injury late in season last year.
01:11 I'm just looking forward to getting back out there with a team that has one
01:15 mindset ready to compete for the same goal.
01:17 When I came on my visit, I had a great time with the guys here.
01:24 Everybody was very welcoming, friendly.
01:27 The coaches and the staff were great over the two day trip.
01:31 And then Fuqua is a great business school.
01:36 I'm excited to get started there in a couple weeks.
01:39 Football doesn't last forever, so I had to have a backup plan for
01:44 whenever football ends.
01:45 And I think the degree that I'm gonna be getting at Fuqua is gonna help me out
01:49 down the road when football's over.
