00:00I am extremely honored to introduce Kara Lawson as our Head Women's Basketball Coach here
00:07at Duke.
00:09Kara is a highly seasoned champion at every level, for she has a peerless track record
00:17of success.
00:18I think if you don't know that at this point, then you're living under a rock.
00:22That's very clear if you're paying attention.
00:25Kara is very authentic, which really jumped out at me, and has jumped out at me over the
00:32time I've known Kara, wherein she's extraordinarily comfortable in her own skin, which is one
00:40of the truly great leadership characteristics.
00:43And Kara has that in abundance.
00:45She is incredibly authentic and comfortable with who she is, what she represents, and
00:51how she operates.
00:53Kara is a natural leader, which is indeed very easy to document and well-documented.
01:02Very natural in the way she leads.
01:05She possesses a contemporary vision for women's collegiate basketball, and notwithstanding
01:11for college athletics generally, as a really good pulse of where things currently are.
01:17Kara is extremely passionate about coaching, and enjoys an unabashed commitment relative
01:24to the plight of the student-athlete, again, within this respective era.
01:29Very plugged in.
01:30In addition, Kara is highly empathetic by design, terribly task-oriented, and exceedingly
01:38prideful, and possesses the, what I call, the adaptability gene, wherein Kara has continually
01:47demonstrated situational leadership and flexibility throughout her amazing career.
01:53She has that, as my kids might say, for days.
01:57She's very adaptable.
01:59Finally, Kara has a distinctive track record relative to not only developing very strong,
02:06as well as deeply rooted relationships, but Kara also is truly gifted in maintaining,
02:14if not enhancing, those highly valued relationships over time.
02:19Yes, indeed, Duke is very, very excited, to say the least, to have Kara lead our outstanding program.
