00:00Hey, Javante, I was just curious what your take was on the penalties that kind of killed
00:07drives.
00:08As Coach Brown said, you guys didn't have any in the first quarter.
00:12I believe it was only one early second quarter, but ended up with 10.
00:18What was your take on kind of why some of that was happening?
00:21The main thing I just think was lack of focus, just coming out of halftime and at the beginning
00:28of the game.
00:29I feel like our focus was off a little bit, but overall I think we did pretty good and
00:34we paid off in the end.
00:36And on your 41-yard touchdown reception, can you just take me through that play, how you
00:43saw it develop and when you caught it, if you thought you were going to be able to get
00:46to the end zone?
00:47Yeah, on that concept, I was actually supposed to stay in and block, but once I seen Sam
00:52leave the pocket, when I seen him scramble, I just tried to get up and he just made a
00:57great throw and I caught it and it was wide open.
01:02Thanks.
01:03All right, JB Ricks, go ahead.
01:06Hey, Javante, congratulations on the win.
01:09I'm just curious to know how long did it take for you guys to get into a groove and how
01:16much of an effect did the three-week layoff have on your performance today?
01:21I don't think it really had much of an impact.
01:26I feel like we came out and played hard, the three weeks wasn't nothing that really impacted
01:31us.
01:32I just feel like our focus was off a little bit, like coming out at half and usually at
01:36the halftime, that's when we really start scoring, but this time it just didn't work.
01:40We just got to fix it and get ready for VT.
01:43What's it going to take for you guys to fix those mental mistakes that you guys are making
01:47and allow yourselves to get into a groove for the full 60 minutes on the offensive side
01:53of the ball?
01:55I feel like it's just the small things, from a technique standpoint, things like that.
02:00Nothing major, just little things here and there that we can fix and get better from it.
02:05All right, thank you.
02:07All right, Chapel Fowler, go ahead.
02:10Hey, Javante, just curious on your thoughts on your backfield duo, sorry, backfield teammate
02:16Michael Carter's performance today.
02:18Michael's a great player, I feel like he always comes out and gives his best.
02:22I think he had a great game today, and I'm glad and happy to see him do good.
02:28And one other thing, I noticed along with your touchdown catch, you had a wheel route
02:32where you drew a pass interference penalty.
02:33I know Longo's talked about getting the running backs more involved in the offense passing
02:39game.
02:40How's that been for you through two games?
02:41Is it something you're enjoying?
02:43Yeah, I like catching the ball in the backfield.
02:45There's more space, like on the perimeter, instead of always running between the tacklers.
02:53All right, last one for Javante from Deena King.
02:56Deena, go ahead.
02:58Hey, Javante, just wanting to know the importance of getting this win on the road and how much
03:04of a factor it helps in learning how to win games like this.
03:08Coach Brown mentioned the Virginia Tech game last year.
03:14Yes, ma'am.
03:16Getting a win on the road is always tough, and we're just happy to be 2-0 right now.
03:21We got to keep going because last year it was 2-0 and we started slipping.
03:24So this time we're just going to try not to let it get to us and just keep going hard
03:28and playing hard.
03:30Thank you.
03:32All right, Javante, thanks for joining us.
03:34Appreciate it.
