00:00our Chancellor, Kevin Gustowitz, and he made a statement that's really resonated
00:05with me. It's the reimagined new normal. And I think that's what we're doing.
00:10Things will not be the same. And we had a staff meeting this morning and in
00:15talking to our staff, we're still staying with the same plan we had when I talked
00:20to you before. Understanding we haven't been told anything for sure, but our plan
00:27is still to go back to work middle of June as a staff until we're told
00:31differently. Our plan is that the players would come back either the 1st of July
00:36or middle of July and have either a month or four weeks to prepare for the
00:40opening of spring practice, opening of fall practice August 1st, and we would
00:46still play our games and play regular season. Now, again, I haven't been
00:52told that, but I haven't been told that that's not going to happen. And that
00:56was what we talked about initially. So what we want to do is be prepared for
01:02the earliest, and that is the earliest any of this can happen, be prepared for
01:06the earliest because it's easy to move back. It's really tough to move forward.
01:11So if they move the season back, if different things happen, then we'll be
01:16prepared for that rather easily. So things sound like they're happening
01:22across the country with the possibility of people are going to hire cleaning
01:28services, and they're going to clean the building, and they're going to clean
01:31facilities, and they're going to clean your practice areas every day, and
01:35that's cool. People are talking about apps that you can detect
01:39temperatures, and you can do that constantly throughout the day. The
01:45question will be when we come back, will we have 10 working out in the weight
01:50room at a time or 50 or less? What will those numbers be like? And we'll keep
01:55social distancing. I'm a hugger and a high-fiver, and that's gonna have to
01:59change. I mean, that's just who I am. So I'm really gonna have to work at, I can't
02:05imagine our first team meeting with everybody back, and everybody has to stay
02:09six feet apart. But things have changed, and we're gonna have to do
02:12that for everybody's health. And then do you have different types of
02:19practices? Do you have different numbers at different times? Do you have a staff
02:25meeting in the Swafford team meeting auditorium to spread people out further?
02:30Do you have to meet with your first two groups and not your third group at the
02:35same time, and then have two different meetings? Do you have to have two team
02:39meetings, a defensive team meeting and an offensive team meeting? What will
02:43training table look like? Will we have carryout more than people sitting
02:47together? So all of these things, will there be dots to separate you in the
02:54elevators, where you can only have four on the elevator at a time, but you
02:59have to stand on your dot so you can stay separated. All of these things are
03:04things that we all have to look at. And in our staff meeting this morning with
03:08the coaches, I told them, you need to, you've settled into a routine now over a
03:15month with your family at home, and it's been different. And now you're going to
03:20come back out of that and go back to work at some point. So you need to start
03:24looking at what re-entry would be like with your family. Do you need to separate
03:29from them now? Do you need to go in your office for a while and sit and talk?
03:34And the other part of that is, what will our plan be moving forward when we go
03:39back to work? I ask each department head as such, recruiting and medical staff
03:45and strength staff and offense defense special teams, submit a plan for what
03:51you're wanting to do when we get back to work, if that is June 15. So all of those
03:56things are things now that will happen that are different again. So we're,
04:00it's like we're in a constant mode of sudden change, and there's a lot of
04:05unknowns out there that we've still got to continue to work toward.
