00:00 A student in Manila used his cellphone to hack into a CCTV pool.

00:09 One of the suspects was arrested with the help of the Global Positioning System or GPS of the stolen cellphone.

00:16 We have first news, Mr. Jomer Apresto.

00:22 It was caught in the area of Quiricada in Santa Cruz, Manila on Tuesday night when a police officer saw two men riding a motorcycle.

00:32 They fell down to the ground but they got up and ran again.

00:36 The motorcycle rider was arrested, one of the suspects in the phone hacking of a student in Malate.

00:44 In another CCTV footage, the student was seen walking alone in the area of Rellano Avenue last Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

00:53 Later, the two men approached the motorcycle and the woman's cellphone was blocked.

00:58 The victims chased the suspects but they were not caught.

01:02 I should have apologized for what I did because I thought it was my fault that we were about to have an argument.

01:09 But I was already looking at my phone and I didn't realize that it happened.

01:14 The victim and his mother arrived here. They brought a tablet.

01:20 The location of his cellphone can be seen here through the Global Positioning System or GPS.

01:27 That was the way for the police to track down the suspects.

01:30 We immediately carried out a follow-up operation.

01:33 We followed the location and the victim from Tafquirino going to Sampaloc.

01:39 We caught him there in Quiricada, Sanda Cruz.

01:46 The victim's cellphone was recovered.

01:49 One of the suspects is in the custody of Malate Police Station.

01:53 He explained that he was forced to do so because he needed to pay his debts.

01:57 I was just brought to the town. I was just going to drive.

02:05 The man is being released from prison because of a case involving illegal drugs.

02:10 It is still being investigated if he was involved in another incident that took place in the area

02:14 and if the motorcycle they used for the crime was a carnap.

02:17 His accomplice is being investigated.
