Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees has started the season on an absolute tear. So much so that Alex Rodriguez put him in the same breath as Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Tiger Woods. While that may be going a bit too far, so are the balls off of Judge's bat as he has six home runs in five games. Sports Illustrated Host Robin Lundberg spoke with Max Goodman of InsidethePinstripes about the historic start from the Yankees star.

00:00 Aaron Judge has started the season on an absolute tear so much so that Alex Rodriguez compared him to Michael Jordan LeBron James and Tiger Woods
00:07 Maybe that's going a little bit too far. Nevertheless judge has six home runs in his first five games and for more
00:13 I'm joined by Max Goodman of inside the pinstripes max. What kind of special season could we be looking at from judge here?
00:20 Well judge isn't just hot right now. He's he's having an historic start to this season
00:26 You said it's six home runs and in five games, which is something that only Alex
00:31 Rodriguez has done before him in terms of six home runs in the first eight games of the season and only Lou Gehrig Don
00:38 Mattingly and Roger Maris
00:39 That's a trio of historic names and pinstripes have ever had a longer streak of home runs in consecutive games
00:46 I mean right now he's leading baseball in virtually every offensive category from RBI to slugging percentage to total bases and
00:54 He's he's paving the way for this Yankees lineup
00:57 That's stacked in its own right to their tide for their best start in franchise history
01:02 They're seven and one right now going into two games against the Phillies to start this week and Garrett Cole's on the mound
01:08 So you got to expect that this hot stretch is gonna continue for the team
01:11 But Aaron judge was my picked for for MVP this year Robin
01:14 So I I like how that pick is turning out so far
01:17 I got to imagine no fan base has its fingers crossed more about the the season being
01:22 Completed than Yankees fans right just how good the team is and what judge is doing
01:26 Absolutely, and and the craziest part about this is in the the postgame zoom press conference after the game last night
01:34 Judge was asked, you know, what is it like to be this locked in?
01:37 Does the ball seem like a like a beach ball to you at this point and his response may may surprise a couple people
01:43 He said I'm actually not locked in yet
01:46 And that's something that I'm still trying to to get to this season and it's a daily grind
01:51 So I think that not only are Yankees fans
01:53 Utterly enjoying every moment of this and it's at this point. You're kind of expecting him to go deep every night
01:59 that's just how crazy this run is for him, but
02:02 But other pitchers around the league must have you know
02:06 Not gotten sleep last night when they heard judge say that because if this isn't locked in Robin, I don't know what is
02:11 Yeah, all rise Aaron judge is on fire max. Appreciate your time. Sure
