Over the weekend, the Toronto Blue Jays were denied the ability to play their home games in Canada. With Canada's rules regarding quarantine amidst the coronavirus pandemic, logistically it would be nearly impossible to play in their home country. The team is reportedly looking to a few different places in the United States to relocate their "home field" for the 2020 MLB season

00:00The Major League Baseball season begins this week and the Toronto Blue Jays still don't
00:11know where they're going to play their home games.
00:14They will not be at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
00:16The Canadian government said you can't play there, out of concern that teams would be
00:21arriving from COVID-19 hotspots in the United States.
00:26The Blue Jays have considered playing games at their spring training ballpark in Dunedin,
00:31Florida.
00:32But there's a problem there.
00:33The weather in Florida in July, August, and September is very hot and very wet.
00:39And with only 66 days to get in 60 games, the schedule is not very accommodating for
00:45rain outs.
00:46The Blue Jays also have considered playing at their AAA ballpark in Buffalo, New York.
00:52But there's a problem there.
00:53The lighting there is not up to Major League standards.
00:57The Blue Jays are looking into upgrading the lighting and clubhouse facilities in Buffalo.
01:04And in the meantime, depending on how long that takes, they've looked at sharing Major
01:09League ballparks with other teams, such as PNC Park with the Pirates or Tropicana Field
01:15with the Rays.
01:17Keep in mind that Major League ballparks already are stretched very thin in terms of social
01:23distancing when it comes to locker room and training facilities.
