00:00For Cleveland Baseball Insider, I'm Matt Lodi. Opening night at Progressive Field and a history-making
00:06night for Indians pitcher Shane Bieber. The Indians' No. 1 starter struck out 14 batters
00:11in six innings as the Indians went on for a 2-0 win over the Kansas City Royals. Bieber
00:15struck out the side in three innings that he pitched, and he was on fire as again he
00:20goes six innings, allowing no runs on four hits. The Indians' bullpen also did a tremendous
00:25job as the combination of Adam Simber, Nick Wickren, and Brad Hand did not allow a hit
00:31or a run in three innings worth of work. The Indians did have problems early offensively,
00:36but finally were able to get a couple of runs as it was Oscar Mercado with an RBI single
00:40and Cesar Hernandez with an RBI double off of losing pitcher Danny Duffy. Again, the
00:45Indians with a huge opening night win as Shane Bieber. He ties Randy Johnson from 1996's
00:51opening night record of 14 strikeouts as the Indians beat the Kansas City Royals at
00:55Progressive Field with a final score of 2-0. On Saturday, Mike Clevenger will go for the
01:01Indians and he'll try to match Bieber's mark of 14 strikeouts. Easier said than done. For
