Indians slugger Franmil Reyes has been absent from the team for the last two days after admitting he was at a July 4th party and failed to wear a mask. The team has requested that Reyes get tested for the covid-19 virus just to be on the safe side, and manager Terry Francona said Tuesday that Reyes by no means is not in trouble for his actions.

00:00Hi everyone, I'm Matt Lodi with Cleveland Baseball Insider here on SI.com.
00:05Some news out of Progressive Field earlier today, Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona
00:09telling the media that slugger Fran Mel Reyes is not with the team and will not be until
00:14he takes another COVID-19 test.
00:17It was determined that Reyes had not worn a mask during a July 4th holiday party with
00:21friends and therefore the Indians told him that he's not going to be allowed back with
00:25the team until he takes another negative test.
00:28Reyes, who last season had 37 combined home runs with the San Diego Padres and Indians,
00:33was told by the team that he's not in the penalty box according to Francona, but this
00:37is just for the good of the team and of course it will not put other players at risk.
00:42Francona was asked if he knew if any of the people at the party had been exposed to the
00:45COVID-19 virus and as Francona said, you don't know until you get tested.
00:51For now though, Fran Mel Reyes not with the team and won't be until he gets a negative
00:55COVID-19 test.
00:57With Cleveland Baseball Insider on SI.com, I'm Matt Lodi.
