The Indians have been vocal about their desire to keep superstar shortstop Francisco Lindor as a part of the franchise past 2022, but stemming from an interview with Keith Law on Tuesday on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, Lindor not only wants to test free agency, but at this point is flat out done talking to the Indians. Is there anything the Tribe can do to keep Frankie?

00:00Hi, everyone. I'm Matt Lodi on Cleveland Baseball Insider here on SI.com. There hasn't been
00:05much in the way of news recently in terms of Francisco Lindor, the Indians' all-star
00:10shortstop. The 26-year-old broke off contract talks early in March when the Indians were
00:15still in spring training. Baseball author Keith Law, though, came out on 92.3 The Fan
00:20on Tuesday and said that he thinks that Lindor wants to go free agency and that he no longer
00:25wants to even talk to the Indians about a contract extension. Many think that Lindor
00:30will get anywhere between $300 and $400 million when he reaches free agency in 2022. This
00:36leaves a major dilemma for the Indians in terms of what the future holds for Lindor.
00:41Should they look to trade him? Should they keep him and just let him ride out his contract?
00:44Or should they try one more time to go to the drawing board and come up with all that
00:48type of money to keep him an Indian for years to come? Whatever the case may be, Lindor
00:53holds all the cards right now and the Indians are in a tough position once again when it
00:57comes to an upcoming free agent. For Cleveland Baseball Insider on SI.com, I'm Matt Lodi.
