The MLB season possible being cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic is bad enough, missing out on some significant milestones make it that much worse. Notable stars in MLB were on track to reach some impressive milestones. SI’s Matt Martell highlights two all-time great sluggers may not see their individual feeds obtained if the season is cancelled.

00:00There are some milestones that could be missed if Major League Baseball isn't able to get
00:05a season in.
00:06For more, I'm joined by our Matt Martell.
00:08And Matt, let's focus on a couple sluggers.
00:10First, Albert Pujols, clearly not in his prime, but he did have a chance of getting to 700
00:14home runs.
00:15Yes.
00:16So, Pujols was 44 home runs, or right now he is 44 home runs shy of 700.
00:22He would be the fourth person ever to do that, and it will be history.
00:25His averaging 22 home runs over the last three seasons, which is a, he's been pretty consistent
00:31at that as well.
00:32He hasn't really deviated much.
00:34So if he kept that pace for 2020 and 2021, he would have finished with exactly 700.
00:39It was an outside shot, but he still had a chance.
00:42Now, if there is no 2020 season, it's pretty much unlikely that he's not going to, or that
00:47he's going to, it's pretty much unlikely that he's going to get there, considering he has
00:50two years left on his contract.
00:53Another guy who's put up big power numbers, Miguel Cabrera.
00:56What could he lose out on?
00:58So he is 185 hits shy of 3,000, and 23 home runs away from 500.
01:04Now, he looked pretty healthy this spring training, and he actually performed pretty
01:09well.
01:10It looked like maybe we were going to get a bounce back year for Miggie.
01:12If he didn't get there in 2020, he probably could have gotten there in 2021.
01:16Now if you push that calendar, or that timeline back a year, it might be a little bit harder
01:23for him to get there as he will be another year older.
01:26And those former stars are joining baseball fans, I guess, in hoping that there can be
01:31a season.
01:32Matt, I appreciate your time, as always.
01:35Thank you, Robin.
