00:00 Hi everyone, I'm Matt Lodi with Cleveland Baseball Insider here on SI.com.
00:05 Will there be a 2020 Major League Baseball season?
00:08 That still seems to be the biggest thing that everybody's asking, including the media, the
00:12 fans and even the players and owners themselves.
00:15 Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic has come out with a new report he gave to Chris Myers from
00:19 Fox Sports talking about exactly how a 2020 season in baseball can take place.
00:25 The likeliest scenario, according to Rosenthal, is that all the games would take place in
00:29 the state of Arizona, where there are many spring training complexes.
00:34 All 30 teams would report to Arizona and games would be played from there.
00:38 Of course, the biggest hurdle is the fact that the games would be played in front of
00:41 no fans.
00:43 And then there's also the wonder of how are you going to get all of these teams into one
00:46 state?
00:47 Of course, these teams would also have to be quarantined up in hotels.
00:50 They'd also have to have weekly tests for the coronavirus.
00:53 There's a lot of hurdles, according to Rosenthal, that would have to take place in order for
00:57 a 2020 season to happen.
00:59 The players would get tested on a weekly basis for the coronavirus.
01:02 And of course, if one of them got sick, they would probably have to sit out for a little
01:06 while.
01:07 It's a lot to really take in right now, as the Major League Baseball season would have
01:10 been in about its 25th day today.
01:13 Unfortunately, we have not seen one pitch.
01:16 But according to Rosenthal, Major League Baseball continues to be the one sport that seems to
01:20 be getting closer to getting played than any other.
01:23 With Cleveland Baseball Insider, I'm Matt Lodi on SI.com.
