Alister Hosking talks about honouring his 100 year old veteran grandfather at the Kangaroo Flat ANZAC Day service.

00:00 Can you tell me a little bit about how it feels to be able to tell your grandfather's story here today?

00:04 Convincing it down from the last speech was quite hard.

00:10 There's quite a lot of history behind him, there's quite a lot of stories that he's told over the years.

00:16 It is great that he is here celebrating his 23rd birthday with not only his children, his grandchildren,

00:22 also his great-grandchildren as well, who are still around to continue his story,

00:27 but also we're here to continue on his legacy. Dad looking after the Benidorm chapter of Darwin Defenders has been great.

00:35 Ash just constantly remembering Pa and all the things that he would tell us and he would list with us as well, so it's a great experience.

00:42 I could see that you were getting quite emotional during your speech.

00:45 Is Anzac Day specifically a very emotional time for your family?

00:50 Anzac Day, yes. A lot of his brothers were in the armed forces as well, so there's also that family history, serving members of the community.
