Raptors' center Marc Gasol will be a key to Toronto's half-court offense when the season restarts next month.
Transcript
00:00 The Toronto Raptors scrimmage last night was anything but pretty.
00:05 They got run off the court in a meaningless game against the Phoenix Suns and never looked
00:09 particularly engaged.
00:11 There were however a few bright spots, specifically the play of Mark Gasol.
00:15 Gasol missed the Raptors first scrimmage and much of the second scrimmage, but got a lot
00:20 of play last night and showed just how lethal he can be in the half court.
00:24 In the first quarter, he looked off Mikhail Bridges trying to stop a cutting OJ Anovi
00:29 to find Pascal Siakam open for a corner three.
00:32 In the third quarter, he fired a perfect pass to Fred Van Vliet out of the pick and roll
00:37 for an easy cash and shoot three pointer.
00:40 It was the kind of playmaking the Raptors half court offense has needed this season
00:43 and certainly the reason Nick Nurse said good things happen when Gasol gets the ball on
00:48 offense.
00:50 If Gasol can stay healthy for the rest of this year, he will be a key factor in facilitating
00:54 the Raptors offense in the half court.
