00:10resolve to continue with the league's planned restart in the Orlando, Florida bubble.
00:14Now, according to a recent report from ESPN, Silver sounded, quote, resolute but somber
00:20as he acknowledged the recent spike of COVID-19 cases in Florida.
00:24On Saturday, Florida set another daily record for coronavirus cases with more than 4,000
00:29positive tests, marking the third consecutive day the state had set a record for daily cases.
00:35Now, NBPA Executive Director Michelle Roberts told ESPN that the union is closely monitoring
00:40the situation, saying, quote, while we take some solace in knowing our players will not
00:45travel commercially to get to Orlando, that access to the campus is severely limited and,
00:49of course, all of the other health and safety protocols in place, the numbers will keep
00:54our attention.
00:55Now, the NBA's protocols are based on CDC guidelines.
00:58The league is currently planning on beginning COVID-19 testing of its players on June 23rd
01:03as a part of the beginning of phase two of the league's resumption.
01:07The season is not slated to resume until July 30th.
